CONGRATULATIONS Daniel and Heather Bleier are the proud parents of a baby boy, WADE SAMSON BLEIER, born on November 27

In Sympathy Our Christian sympathy is extended to Judy Detwiler and family as they mourn the death of Judy’s mom, Phyllis Trafzer-Hill, who died in the Lord on Nov. 28
th at the age of 92. A
memorial service will be held in Vero Beach in April.
Hospitalized or Surgery Michael Hea, undergoing surgery on Tuesday for a pace maker.

Please join us for Advent Midweek Services each Wednesday, December 6th, 13th, and 20th at 7:00 pm. It's fine to prepare your house for Christmas by decorating, and it's fine to prepare for Christmas by purchasing and wrapping gifts for the people you love, but what about preparing your heart to celebrate Christmas? You're welcome to join our Wednesday chapel services at 8:30 am, but this year we'll be offering evening
services as well. Please plan to come!

The Praise Team will present a concert of sacred and secular Christmas music with group and solo performances at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Come and ho some original arrangements and sing some traditional songs.

The Adult Volunteers of the Children and Youth Board of Our Savior Lutheran Church and School would like to provide you with a
Parents Day Out. We will be serving Pizza for Lunch between 12 to 1 (plus snacks), fun activities and movies at a flat rate of $10 per child. CHRISTMAS RECYCLED Soon you'll be busy bringing out your Christmas decorations. As you go through them, set aside anything you no longer have need for or have "outgrown." We will have a Christmas Recycled Sale during the Cookie Walk on Sunday, December 10th . Proceeds will benefit the Handbell Choir for their Spring Festival.

Dear Friends and Haiti Supporters, Last week our Card and House Crafters sent
$3000.00 to Haiti for the Goat project. This money will provide
thirteen families with three goats each. A great Christmas present for them.
Earlier this year we sent $3600.00, which is a total of $6600.00 for 2017.
Thank you Crafters for your dedication and Thank you buyers and supporters. God has truly blessed this effort.
Now, the Craft group met Tuesday and decided on their 2018 project.
2018 effort will be dedicated to the Anna Moore Mission
in Vanuatu. The Craft group will resume it's Card making and Crafting
mid January. The group has committed a minimum of $4000.00 for 2018.
We hope and pray that our projects will meet or exceed the 2017 receipts for Haiti. ($6600)

The Weidners seek prayer for Daniel as he decides what his next step after graduating with a BS in gaming software will be. Karen Walbridge asks for prayers of healing and encouragement for her Uncle Wayne in Michigan, Phil Neils, Allan Mink, Michael Hea, Val Perry, Barbara Fischer and Warren Hussey. WE PRAY FOR GOD’S COMFORT, GUIDANCE, AND BLESSINGS “He gives strength to the weary and increases
the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 The Family of OSLC pray for the lost to return to the Lord, for continued prayers for the Nicklas family, for OSLC/S as we remain open for all the Lord has for us to do, for the Holy Spirit’s support on our Pastoral call process and healing for our nation. Olga Gotting prays God’s peace for all the earth. Roberta Little prays that the Holy Spirit will set our hearts ablaze! And prays for the pastor God is preparing for us. Debra Beck asks for prayers for OSLS and its staff. Gerry Gruenbaum requests continued prayer for “Hope Women’s Center and their work to save the lives of unborn babies from the holocaust of abortion, the leading cause of death in America, and prayer for the care for the mothers of these children.” Al & Val Perry ask for continued prayers for their granddaughter, Courtney, and her two precious little girls, Laila and Ariana, to have the God of hope in their lives. Our prayers are bearing fruit and for that we are thankful! Marie Shaw writes, “Please keep Wayne, Tyler and Marie in prayer. Prayers for all who need the Lord’s healing touch.” Rhoda Monaco writes, “Pray continually for all the sheep that have gone astray that they will respond to God’s call to bring them home. Karen Walbridge asks for prayers for the safety of all law enforcement officers, firefighters and for our military that the Lord will wrap His loving arms around them and keep them safe from harm.

The long view of Advent Advent is about preparing not only for Christmas but also for Jesus’ return. According to Scripture, that won’t be the calm, silent scene described in Christmas carols. In 1928, Dietrich Bonhoeffer preached: “It is very remarkable that we face the thought that God is coming so calmly, whereas previously peoples trembled at the day of God …. We have become so accustomed to the idea of divine love and of God’s coming at Christmas that we no longer feel the shiver of fear that God’s coming should arouse in us. We … [forget] the serious aspect, that the God of the world draws near to the people of our little earth and lays claim to us.” God is love; we’ll be in good hands at the end of time. But during Advent, also be in awe of God. Embrace a reverent fear of the Lord that reminds you how profound it is that God chooses again and again to draw near and lay claim to you.
