Problem: Evaluation of Formation Resistivity Factor in Shaly Sands (Waxman-Smits)
For each individual data set you are to:
6.1. Determine the "Archie" model parameters using a plot of the logarithm of forma-tion factor versus the logarithm of porosity. Archie model: F=a-m
6.2. Determine the "Archie" model parameters using a plot of the logarithm of forma-tion factor versus the logarithm of permeability. Archie model: F=k-
6.3. Correlate permeability and porosity using:—k=AB (log(k) versus log())—k=Aexp(B) (log(k) versus )
6.4. Describe your results for each task—devote a summary paragraph to each task.
You are REQUIRED to work these tasks by hand—you can CHECK your work with a computer product such as MS Excel, but you will be expected to be able to work pro-blems of this type BY HAND.
