The
Year
of
Mercy
Dear Parishioners and Visitors, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: It is with great joy that this Sunday Ruth, Daniel and Liz will be received into full communion with the Catholic Community at the 10am Mass Tewantin. These candidates have been preparing since last October for the final sacraments of the Church so they can fully participate in the life of the Church Community. Please continue to pray for each of these candidates as they
continue their Journey of Faith as new members of the Parish and Church Community. ANZAC DAY: Next Monday morning our nation stops to remember the fallen, those men and women who serviced this Nation in War and Peace. The Parish celebrates a 7.30am ANZAC day Mass at Tewantin Church and then encourages Parishioners to attend the ANZAC day Service at Tewantin town centre with the March at 9am followed by the Service at the Cenotaph near the RSL club. Visiting Priests: I would like to thank Fr Ray Kearney who has been helping on the weekends while Fr Isidore is on leave. Also thanks to Fr Leo Burke who will be helping next weekend so that Fr Isidore does not have a full Mass load on the weekend when he returns on Thursday 28th April from Nigeria. Columbarium: Next Sunday before the 10am Mass, I will be blessing the three Columbarium walls at Tewantin Church in preparation for the first installment of loved ones’ ashes. On Sunday 8th May before the 8am Mass at Pomona I will also bless the Columbarium Wall installed for the hinterland communities to use. People from across the Parish are most welcome to attend either blessing Rite. May the blessing of the Risen Christ be with you and your families this Easter Season, Fr Mark Franklin P.P.
PARISH DAY TRIPPERS
Tour of Maleny Dairies and the beautiful Maleny Township
Thursday 19th May 2016
Maleny Dairies is a premium, family owned company in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast. Enjoy a farm and factory
tour and learn all about the processing of milk from the cow to the bottle and everything in between!
You can expect to get up close and personal with one of their Guernsey gals and meet their calves. The tour
includes a visit to the dairy to see where the cows are milked and the factory where the milk is processed and then
bottled. And of course the tour wouldn't be complete without sampling their range of award winning products.
You will then have ample time to explore the plentiful treasures of the artisan township of Maleny, enjoying lunch
at one of the many eateries and browsing the numerous shops with their abundant arts & crafts.
DEPARTS: Tewantin Church 8:30am sharp!

David grew up in Nelson, New Zealand. After studying Architectural
Technology at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, David
moved to Australia to serve with NET Ministries. In 2009 and 2010 he led
the NET National team and Brisbane team respectively. After spending this
time working with young men in Catholic schools David, along with four
other young men, started Frassati Fraternity in an attempt to engage young
men in the Catholic faith. The young men of Frassati live sacramental lives
and adopt the two pillars of Bl. Pier Giorgio’s spiritual life – The Eucharist
and Our Lady. Five years on, Frassati achieves this through their Houses,
Catechesis evenings and many social forums. David is a gifts manager for
the Archdiocese of Brisbane and currently completing his Master of social
impact and philanthropy at Swinburne University in Melbourne.
On Friday 8th April 2016, Pope Francis published a new papal
document called, Amoris Laetitia, ‘The Joy of Love: On Love in the
Family’ at the Vatican in Rome.
It is about marriage and family life. The papal document is also
known as an ‘Apostolic Exhortation’.
It is available to read and download on the Australian Catholic Bishops
Conference website: https://www.catholic.org.au/synod-2015/home
If you don’t have time to read all 256 pages of the Exhortation, you can
access a summary on the bishops conference website.
