PARISH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION TOTAL WEEKLY FINANCIAL SUPPORT
APRIL 22, 2018
Offertory Collection $ 11,120.00
Caring & Sharing $ 58.00
2017-2018 GRAND ANNUAL $ 54,848.00
Thank you for your continued support
A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR
As we approach graduation from high schools, I would like to remind all graduating seniors who are parish-ioners of the Parish of the Transfiguration that the pa-riah will be awarding three $500.00 scholarships. These scholarships are courtesy of the Ladies Sodality and the Women’s Club. Application forms can be found in the sacristy of both churches. Given the cost of education, every little bit will help!!
This weekend, Bishop Hennessey will celebrate the sacrament of confirmation at both churches. There will be two celebrations at St. Thomas of Villanova Church on Saturday and one celebration at St. Doro-thy’s Church on Sunday.
The Catholic Appeal gives us a goal and an assess-ment. As a merged parish, the goal and assessment are a combination of the goal and assessment for each church. Our 2018 Catholic Appeal assessment is $54,157. Our goal is $64,870.33. You may ask what the difference between a goal and assessment is. The goal is a three-year average of what was given in the past. The assessment is what we must pay the diocese even if we do not raise it during the Catholic Appeal fund raising process. If we only raise $50,000.00 through the Catholic Appeal fundraiser, I must write a check from the parish account to make up the differ-ence. The assessment amount is 8% of our offertory, monthly and grand annual collections. I am happy to say that in past years we have made our assessments, so I have not had to write a check to the diocese. The goal and the assessment for the Parish of the Transfig-uration are just a combination of the two churches added together.
Here is where we stand:
Goal: $64,870.00
Assessment: $54,157.00
Gifts/Pledges: $45,545.00
Balance due on Pledges: $ 9,713.00
Total Donors: 227
That’s a great start. Let’s try and make our assessment again this year!!
Well I guess that is it for now. Until next time, take care. Fr. Earley

Kindness and Care for Animals*
DIAPER COLLECTION Hand-me-down baby clothes can provide wonderful sav-ings for young parents, but diapers remain the top expense. In June, The Charities Committee will sponsor a diaper collection. Perhaps over the next few weeks there will be a sale or special coupons to take advantage of. Sizes most in need are 4,5,6 and pull-ups, but any size or brand is most appreciated.
The Ladies Sodality will crown the statue of the Blessed
Mother on May 3rd at 6pm at St. Dorothy Church.
Follow the crowning and we will have a dinner at the
Tewksbury Country Club at 6:30pm. As there is a fund-raiser at the same time, we will go with as few as cars as possible.
