Veterans’ Memorial ParkVeterans’ Memorial Park was created to recognize our military veterans and the sacrifices they made to preserve our country and our values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The park provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to honor these special men and women who have answered the call to duty.

Purchase a Veterans’ Park Paver Heroes come in many forms and all deserve a permanent place of recognition in Veterans’ Memorial Park. Honor a patriot, thank a loved one, or distinguish yourself. Military or civilian, a paver is the perfect way to show your support. Pavers make the perfect gifts for graduations, retirements, anniversaries, holidays, celebrations, memorials, and more.

Each personalized limestone paver is placed in Veterans’ Memorial Park. These custom-engraved pavers make meaningful and memorable gifts for every occasion. Placing a paver will not only go toward a great cause, it is a gift that will last for generations to come. Forms are available for download on our website, or call the Park Office for details at 605-367-8222.

We are proud to be CAPRA accredited. What does having a CAPRA-accredited parks and recreation agency mean for residents of our community?

In 2010, Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation was recognized by the Commission for the Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) as the 90th parks and recreation agency to receive accreditation. With approximately 10,000 parks and recreation agencies in the United States, this was a wonderful success for the department.

Benefits to the public include:• Assurance and validation of well-administered services in accord with approved professional practices.

• Potential for external financial support and savings to the public.

• External recognition of a quality governmental service.

• Holds an agency accountable to the public and ensures responsiveness to meet their needs.

• Improves customer and quality services.
