Principals Message Dear Parents, on Tuesday June 21 from 8:15 am -8:35 am, Parkside Staff will host a Parent Appreciation Morning, offering coffee, hot chocolate and Tim Bits to thank everyone for all their help and continued support of the Staff and Programs offered here at Parkside Centennial Elementary. Through your help and assistance, we are able to make Parkside Centennial Elementary be the best place for children to reach their highest potential. I would also like to personally thank our Parkside Parent community for the trust you place in us to teach and care for your children. We are honoured for this responsibility and take the job of educating your children very seriously. We want your children to learn, grow and most of all feel safe, secure and enjoy being at Parkside. Grade 4 and 5 Spring Concert Time! The birds are chirping, pollen is in the air...which means it's Spring Concert time! Our concert this year is on June 7, 1pm and 6:30 pm. We will be showing off our singing, recorder and ukulele playing, and featuring the music of Shrek, the Musical.

We know that our families have busy lives, but for a great concert we need all of our performers there. It's a busy season for sports, but hopefully you have enough notice to contact coaches in advance so that we can borrow our musicians for this night. Last year, one of our amazing community coaches (I'm so sorry that I can't remember who!) cancelled a practice so that we could have our students. Choir members will be wearing their usual wardrobe, and for everyone else, dark colours on the bottom and your Parkside T-shirt, or a brightly coloured T-shirt, would look great. Thanks so much, and we will practice hard for you! Mrs. Hardy Personal Emergency Supplies: At a recent PAC meeting Tara Sutherland has offered to organize ordering of personal emergency supplies for anyone who would like to participate from the Aldergrove family of Schools. By doing a bulk order there is a 10-15% discount on most items that are not already on sale or clearance as well as no shipping costs. This is not a fundraiser. It is just an opportunity to ensure our families are taken care of in an emergency situation. All information for ordering can be found on the website: http://epaldergrove.weebly.com . Girls and Boys: Fall Soccer starts in September, just after the school re-opens from summer vacation

and will run through to the end of February.

DEVELOPMENTAL - U5-U6 teams have a split practice / game outdoors every Saturday morning from September to December, and a split practice / game Wednesday evening in September and October. In November all U5-U6 teams move indoors to a gym for split practice / games on Weekday evening (no outdoor Saturday games for U5-U6s during the normally cold and rainy months of January and February).

DEVELOPMENTAL - U7-U10 games are played outdoors every Saturday morning from September to February, with a break mid December to 1st week in January. Wednesday evening practice/game from September to October 21st. November 1st, U7/8 teams will get a practice in a gym on a week night, U9/10 will practice on the turf Monday nights, with games still on Saturday mornings.

U11-U18 boys and girls: (Traveling Teams) games are played Saturday or Sunday depending on age group, from September to February
