Subject: Ticket to Barcelona extension
Dear Jenny,
I purchased an open ticket, valid for one year, from your office on January 14, 2010
and was hoping to travel to Barcelona with that ticket. I have been delayed due to
work and cannot leave until the 31st of January 2011. I am under the impression
that a ticket can only be used within the 1 year time frame.
What I would like to know is if it is possible to extend the ticket for another 30
days. I really appreciate the service that you have provided in the past and if you
can help me with this matter it would be much appreciated. You can reach me at
435-2564 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, or through e-mail at
any time.
I have also seen your advertisement in this months edition of Fine Travel magazine.
It provides a special package for Hawaii, including round-trip airfare, luxury hotel
accommodation, complimentary breakfast, car rental from the airport with unlimited
mileage, guided tours to museums and attractions without extra charge. Does the
price include the airport tax? Actually, I thought I must be mistaken. The price was
unbelievably cheap, only $1,220 for three nights and four days. Is this a typo or is
this the real deal? Id like to get more details about the package. Please send me a
complete itinerary because I am definitely interested.
Thank you,

To: Investor Relations (IR) Team
From: Aaron, CEO, Coffee Beans
Subject: Recent valuations
Date: August 15th
Dear IR Team,
The stock market is unpredictable and most would say the prices are dictated by
emotion, not logic. We are not a tech company and, thus, tend to get lower
valuations. As a manufacturer and by no means the largest, it is reasonable for
Coffee Beans to be priced modestly.
Over the last six months, our stock price has not kept up with the general market.
While the index has increased 6%, we only increased 1% and are constantly below
the index on valuation. However, our cash earnings per share is healthy and we are
growing.
I am requesting that the IR department re-evaluate your strategy. We need to look
at our institutional ownership and do some road shows to promote the company. In
addition, I would like to see more analysts cover the company. Interviews with
financial newspapers need to be conducted as well. Finally, we need to monitor
websites to ensure that all information is correct.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at anytime.
Best regards,
Aaron Lee, CEO

From: Jennifer Miles

Dear Mr. Evans, Our recent sandal promotion was a huge success. The public
flocked to our stores and greatly exceeded our expectations. In fact, towards the
end of the month-long promotion we were forced to seek more supplies. We had
allotted 500 pairs of sandals for each of our 10 stores citywide, but by the
beginning of the third week we brought in another 100 pairs per store.
I was able to visit all of our stores over the course of the month and was excited
to see your staff working hard to promote all our lines of sandals. Also, the in-store
advertising was very eye catching without being over-the-top. I especially want to
bring your attention to Rick Smith at the Grand Mall store. I noticed him going out
of his way to effectively deal with customers in a friendly yet professional manner.
If I were you, Id keep my eye on him and not let him get away to any of our
competitors. I feel it would be a great loss to our company.
Again, you and your staff did a tremendous job on the sandal promotion. Im
hoping youll be equally as successful during our late fall/winter boot promotion.

To: Helen Conners, ICG Foods
From: Samantha Williams, FC Exporters
Subject: Order # TG 465 - Vidalia Onions
Date: November 21
As always, thank you very much for your business. I have sent four boxes of Vidalia
onions to your store in Wigan by National Courier yesterday. Unfortunately, we
could not send all seven boxes of Vidalia onions as per your order because you got
the last four boxes we had. Yours was the last shipment of the season from our
warehouse in Dalton.
This is the earliest that we have ever sold out. This is likely due to a recent article
published in Healthy Eating Monthly which featured the nutritional benefits of this
type of onion and that theye only grown in the Fairfax County area. Since then, we
have had an unprecedented number of orders. We are grateful for the attention and
have already begun plans to expand our fields to increase the yield for next season.
If you are still interested in receiving the three boxes of Vidalias we were unable to
ship, please let me know. A friend of mine in Danfield may have a few boxes
leftover, though he does charge slightly more than I do.
Thank you for continued patronage and best wishes to you.

Questions 186-190 refer to the following news article and review.
Wine ShowThe Tri-State Wine Show exhibited some exciting trends in todays local wine world.
Recently, wineries have been focusing on healthier and more flavorful wines.
Wines from our local producers show how they have adapted to these market
trends. If the demand had not increased as sharply as it did, the pricier wines would
have never reached our market, said Ms. Cameron, the director of the show.
For many new entrants like Grosse Point, Pellans and Cavendish, this is an
opportunity to introduce their new higher quality wines to the market. Another
newcomer, Babcock Vines, who showed the healthier side of ice wines, was awarded
the Innovative Wine Prize, which was previously won by Gustavs, a 75-year-old
winery.
With close to 50,000 attendees, the Tri-State Wine Show was held in the Tate
Center, which has convention facilities in downtown Springfield.
Review of Grosse Point WineryIn operation for only four years, Grosse Point Winery has some very well established
white and red wines. The winery is well-known for its white wines, my favourite
being their No. 4, a delightful dessert wine. Two years ago, they began offering a
claret which will likely find its way onto many dinner tables.
My favorite after-dinner wine is their No. 6, a white wine that is neither too sweet
nor too dry. It an excellent choice for sipping after a big, heavy meal. However, if
red is more your taste, then reach for a bottle of their newly launched Grosse
merlot. This is a nice dry red wine full of fruity flavor.
186. What did Ms. Cameron imply about
local wineries?
(A) They have been growing grapes
for decades.
(B) It is difficult to produce new
wines.
(C) Their prices have been going up.
(D) Consumers are becoming less
interested in wine.
189. Which winery received an award at the
show?
(A) Gustavs
(B) Grosse Point
(C) Babcock Vines
(D) Pellans
Day 19 Part 7
187. Which company has participated in
the show before?
(A) Gustavs
(B) Cavendish
(C) Grosse Point
(D) Pellans
190. What does the reviewer suggest about
Grosse Point Winery?
(A) It has reduced the price of its
most popular products.
(B) It avoids borrowing other
companies ideas.
(C) It produces excellent white wines.
(D) It has a wide range of wines.
188. Where was the Tri-State Wine Show
held this year?
(A) At the Tate Centre
(B) At Grosse Point Winery
(C) At Ms. Camerons home
(D) At Babcock Vines

Just to inform you what was discussed in the meeting, Justin Kim told us he
wouldnt be able to participate in leading the seminar in September. Is it possible
for you to contact Miranda Jatis to ask her if she could do it?
Ive already had a talk with her, and Im pretty sure shell say yes. But if she says
she cant, please contact me right away.
