Why Come?Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioners and other healthcare educators are transforming professional practice to improve patient and health outcomes. Plan to attend the 2019 Pathways to Knowledge Nurse Educator Conference to ignite your passion, inspire yourself and others, and innovate your practice. Leave empowered, engaged and energized to transform the future of professional development.

Who Should Attend?NPD practitioners, nursing leaders, and allied health professionals with a focus on professional development or education.

About the ConferenceThis year, the focus of our day will surround two areas of importance to professional development practitioners, one from the perspective of our learners, and the other from the perspective of the organizations to whom we are accountable.

The first session will address how to effectively develop education for a multi-generational workforce. With people of many ages and backgrounds, we will examine how to engage and instruct these different learners when they are often sitting side-by–side.

The second session will address the question of what is our value as NPD practitioner and the part we play in the viability of our own organizations. A practical approach will be taken to help participants learn how to effectively provide financial decision-makers with information about their CE programs that demonstrates return on investment.

Learning Outcomes:• NPD Practitioners will begin to develop strategic education for

the masses that resonate with the individual.• NPD Practitioners will begin to use one financial measure

and one organizational strategy to demonstrate the value ofcontinuing education in their organizations.

Call for Poster AbstractsThe CVANPD Planning Committee welcomes abstracts from professional development educators on new, innovative and practical approaches that can be used in a variety of nursing professional development settings.
