Who is CCCOnline?
CCCOnline is an extension of and a service to 13 Colorado Community Colleges offering students another learning option and greater access to a community college education.
Who do we train?
We offer training and professional development to more than 300 CCCOnline adjunct faculty and staff.
We also provide training to faculty and staff from the 13 affiliated colleges.
Offer Variety
Synchronous Webinars Face To Face
Asynchronous Online Workshops Faculty Wiki and Tutorials Self-Paced
Required Workshops Before teaching Faculty are expected to complete Getting Started Basic LMS
In their first year after hire, faculty must complete Managing Discussions Advanced LMS
More Online Workshops Faculty must earn one training credit a year but method is up to them and their Chair
Other Asynchronous Workshops we offer: Learning Styles Rubrics Measuring What Matters Virtual Teams Course Mapping Study Mate/Respondus-Self-paced
Synchronous Options Face to Face Sessions are rarely offered due to greater cost and difficulty finding a central location, loading computers, and time. Used only when a big move occurs and large masses must be trained quickly
Webinars are offered on timely topics like Plagiarism, Making Interactive Mind-Maps, Web 2.0 technology. Attendance earns credit, but these are recorded for faculty who can’t attend or return to when needed.
Tutorials and Interactive Learning Objects Just in time training available while faculty are in workshops and anytime on the wiki
Some Objects include FERPA ADA Blooms Technical skills to complete teaching tasks like using gradebook
Mentoring Programs
All new hires are assigned a Mentor who also teaches that course to offer advice and field questions
When we move to a new LMS we hire faculty volunteers to mentor faculty in a department on the technical aspects of the new LMS
