October Principal Activities

• Attended 6 IEP/MDT Meetings

• Called parents concerning 2 bus referrals

• Led 2 character assemblies (kindness)

• Attended Sioux City Symphony w/ 5th & 6th

• Had 8 meetings with individuals or groups of faculty

NE Rural Community Schools Association

Alan Katzberg, Director sent invitation to rejoin NRCSA

• Provides a voice or direct influence for specific concerns of rural schools in legislative matters

• Cooperates with teacher training institutions in promoting quality training for teachers and administrators

• Provides a forum for discussion• Serves as liaison to NDE• Annual cost $700

Hearing for Rule 91 - Nov. 29• sunset use of modified 15-passenger vans for schools 3 years

after the implementation date of Rule 91; • require training for drivers of the modified 15-passenger vans; • provide an exemption for some drivers of the modified 15-

passenger vans; • increase length of training for drivers of pupil transportation

vehicles; • require schools to annually check driver’s driving record with the

Department of Motor Vehicles; • require schools to check driver’s State Patrol criminal records

every 5 years; • require schools to do a post trip check for children remaining on

the vehicle at completion of trip; and • remove bus speed limits to align with State Statute
