Our Time Here

Living here has been perfect, we are a stone’s throw from our local blue flag beach and there is a lovely local, family and community-based atmosphere. For us, one of the best things about living here is the coastal walking, there are plenty of historical points of interest along the coastal path. The facilities and services that we have nearby are excellent and they help to make for a very easy-going lifestyle. The first thing you notice about our home is the character, we have retained a lot of the Edwardian features, with fireplaces in most of the rooms and the original windows at the front. Our home is well-proportioned, the high ceilings and welcoming hallway with a quarry tiled floor keeps it cool. It is very light throughout, sunshine pours in through the windows both up and downstairs. We love the sea views from the front bedrooms and having a balcony at the back is perfect for appreciating the spaces both inside and out. Our park like garden is fantastic and gives total seclusion. We would describe it as a peaceful haven. In previous generations this has been a holiday home and once had a tennis court, it is perfect for families. We are going to miss this lovely house and garden, the sea views, seaside walks and community spirit – it has been a very friendly place to live.

Property

Situated at the bottom of the popular 'Percy Avenue' yards from the beautiful Botany Bay Beach is this detached five bedroom Edwardian home boasting distant sea views. Set back from the road you are immediately greeted by the large imposing door leading to an entrance porch, the ground floor comprises a lounge with original fireplace, a kitchen/breakfast room, cloakroom and separate dining room/reception room with large windows overlooking the garden. To the first floor there are five good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom, the two front rooms offering sea views and the master bedroom also has a balcony overlooking the beautiful rear garden. Externally to the front there is a single garage and off-street parking with side access to a simply stunning rear garden providing peace and tranquility. Bordered with a variety of trees and shrubs for ultimate privacy the rear garden is mainly laid to lawn and offers an oasis of calm (we believe there was originally a tennis court in the garden), there is a large paved patio area perfect for al-fresco dining and an ornamental pond. The property is well-placed for easy access to the Thanet towns with Broadstairs being approximately two miles away with a great selection of independent shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Broadstairs also has a mainline railway station providing a high-speed rail link to London St. Pancras. The area also has a number of highly regarded schools in both the public and private sectors.
