Reitz was driving a 2003 Chrysler Sebring LX (OH-FSC6583) while delivering newspapers for the Toledo Blade. Reitz

stated he turned onto Sutton Place (from Holbrook) and saw an animal which he thought was a deer. Reitz stated he

swerved to avoid the animal and believes he slid on the icy roadway, striking a tree in front of 1322 Sutton Place.

Reitz's suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital by Perrysburg Medic 38. The

vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by VJ' s Towing.

I was sitting stationary in the 100 block of E. Front Street, when I observed a silver Honda Accord traveling westbound

drive through the flashing red light at E. Front Street and Louisiana Street. A traffic stop with the vehicle identified the

driver as Hiren Patel. When I advised Mr. Patel as to why I had stopped him, Mr. Patel stated that the light was yellow

when he went through it. Several seconds later he explained that he did not see the light. Mr. Patel was issued citation

#95840 for failure to obey a traffic control device ORC:4511.12 and given a court date of 02/05/13 at 5:00pm. Mr. Patel

was also advised that he would need to provide proof of insurance to the courts, due to his inability to provide proof

during the traffic stop.

I was traveling westbound on W. Indiana Street when I observed a vehicle traveling eastbound towards me at what

appeared to be a speed higher then the posted speed limit of 25mph. I then activated the radar unit in car 8 and

received a speed reading of 46 mph along with a corresponding audio tone. A traffic stop with the vehicle, a black

Mazda Protege (OH-EIE4015), identified the driver as Drew McDonell. I asked Drew if she knew why i stopped her and

she advised that it was most likely for her speeding. Drew was then issued citation #95839 for speed (46mph/25mph),

ORC:4511.21 B2 and advised of her court date of 02/05/13 at 5:00pm.

Michell Uland called and advised that she witnessed a silver car strike the guard rail. She then called back and stated

that she circled back around to check on the vehicle and it had left the area. I checked the area and located skid

marks on the on-ramp to northbound IR-75 from US-20 and damage to the guard rail. I did not locate any vehicle debris

or other evidence to help identify the vehicle, and tire tracks in the snow show that it had clearly left the scene. I

photographed the area, but there are no suspects in this incident.

While traveling north on Findlay St., I observed a white SUV approaching me in the southbound lane at what appeared

to be a speed greater than the posted 25 MPH. I estimated the vehicle's speed to be 45 MPH. I then activated radar

unit E10529 in moving mode and observed a speed of 46 MPH and a corresponding audio tone. As the vehicle passed

me I observed that it was a white Ford Escape. I turned around and stopped the Ford Escape (OH-756YIV) in front of

Ed Schmidt's car lot. I identified the driver as the registered owner, Brandon Boor. I advised him of the reason for the

stop and he stated he was not paying attention. Upon running his driver's license, Boor was found to be under a

License Forfeiture suspension. I issued Brandon Boor a citation for Speed, 4511.21(B)(2) MM; and Driving Under

Suspension, 4510.11(A) UM. He was given a mandatory court date of 2/5/2013 at 1700 hours. Mr. Boor's wife came to

the scene and picked him up, and the vehicle was parked in the Marco's Pizza parking lot.The calibration of radar unit

E10529 was checked and found to be accurate at 2015 hours on 2/3/2013.

I was stationary on Fort Meigs Rd at the South driveway at Fort Meigs Business Center. I observed a Black Chevrolet

Equinox OH-FOV5197 traveling Southbound on Fort Meigs Rd near Spafford Rd. The vehicle appeared to be traveling

faster than the posted speed limit of 35 mph. I estimated the speed of the vehicle to be 50 mph. I activated laser unit #

UX014977 and it displayed a reading of 51 mph at 393.1 ft from the cruiser. I stopped the vehicle and spoke to the

driver, Adam Brill. Mr. Brill advised that he didn't know how fast he was going. He was cited for speed and was given a

court date for 02/05/2013 at 1700 hrs. I had good tracking and the calibration was checked and it was functioning

properly. Mr. Brill had an adult female in the front passenger seat and two children in the back seat.

While on patrol, I observed a silver Toyota Sierra (OH-FOU5604) with an orange 2012 license plate expiration sticker.

Upon running the license plate, it was found to be expired as of 09/19/2012. I stopped the vehicle and identified the

driver as the registered owner, Alia Wolaver. Wolaver advised that she just recently purchased a registration sticker

and it should be on the plate. I advised her that the sticker on the plate showed expired "9-12", and BMV records also

show that the plate is expired. I then showed her on the registration she had in her glove box that she purchased the

new sticker in June of 2012 for approximately $27, and it was good until September of 2012. I issued her a citation for

Expired Registration, 4503.11 M4, and gave her a court date of 02/05/2013 at 1700 hours.

Kayla Vonseggern called to advise someone struck her parked vehicle and left the area . Vonseggern's red 2006

Pontiac G6 (OH-FNY3202) was parked on the north side of the parking lot facing E. South Boundary St. She advised

that an employee at Hot Head Burrito witnessed a tan and grey or green and grey "crossover" vehicle, possibly a Chevy

Traverse, back out of the spot next to Vonseggern's vehicle striking it in the process. I spoke with the Manager at Hot

Head Burrito and he advised a similar account of the incident, and provided a partial Illinois license plate of "8016". He

also stated it looked as though the vehicle realized they had hit Vonseggern 's vehicle, but still left headed east on E.

South Boundary St. Dispatch attempted to run the partial plate, but were not successful. I also checked hotels

surrounding US-20, but I did not locate any vehicles that fit the description given.

Gregg Brown was operating his grey 2012 Jeep Liberty (OH-FOE3897) southwest on Carronade when he fell asleep

at the wheel. Brown's vehicle swerved to the left and struck a unoccupied, parked blue 2000 Ford Explorer

(MI-BFD8215). The front left side of Brown's struck the rear left side of the Ford Explorer, pushing the rear of the

Explorer into the curb, flattening both rear tires. Brown's vehicle then ran off the road left and came to a rest in the city

right-of-way in front of 26658 Carronade Dr. I was able to make contact with the owner of the Ford Explorer, Bernard

Dezinski. Brown was issued a citation for Operation Without Reasonable Control (ORC 4511.202, MM) and given a

court date for Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 at 5:00. Brown was advised to show the court current proof of financial

responsibility.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious yellow vehicle occupied by three males . The vehicel was

repotedly driving without it lights on and playing loud music on Carrington Blvd. Officers located the vehicle, a yellow

Chevy Cobalt (OH-FRX8614), at the intersection of Carrington Blvd and Sterling Court. A traffic stop with the vehicle

identified the driver as Alexis J. Gama-Jaimes. When questioned about the complaint, Alexis advised that he was

delivering papers, and provided me with a Mexican Identification Card. A check of Alexis's status found that Alexis did

not and has never had a valid driver’s license. Alexis was then issued citation #95837 for No Operator License ORC:

4510.12A1, and given a court date of 02/05/13 at 5pm.


Officers responded to the area of Carrington Woods for a suspicous vehicle driving around with no

headlights and playing loud music. The driver was subsequently cited for No OL.

Collins called 911 to report that Conley was driving recklessly. I located the two vehicles on W Indiana Av

at Louisiana. Conley motioned to me that he wanted to talk. Both vehicles pulled over in the 300 block

of Walnut St. Conley advised that Collins pulled out in front of him at 795/280 and that they were following

too close as he drove west on 795. Collins advised that Conley had been tailgating and then sped around

her to "brake check" her. Both subjects were advised that I would document their statements. Collins and

Conley then left in opposite directions.
