Psychiatric TreatmentPacific Grove Hospital is a 68-bed, acute psychiatric and chemical

dependency hospital situated on 4.5 acres in the heart of Riverside, Calif.

Our highly trained staff treats voluntary patients facing issues such as:

• Major depression — insomnia, extreme fatigue, depressed moods

• Bipolar and manic disorders

• Impulse behaviors disorders

• Grief and loss management

• Unusual thought disorders

• Severe anxiety — irritability, anger, delusion/thought disorders

Older Adult UnitPacific Grove also offers an Older Adult Unit that provides specialized

treatment for individuals age 65 and older who suffer from conditions

such as depression or confusion, addiction to alcohol or medication,

agitation, anxiety, mood swings and delusional thoughts.

Chemical Dependency TreatmentAlcoholism and drug addiction are debilitating disorders affecting the

body, mind and spirit. Pacific Grove Hospital provides comprehensive

addiction treatment, including 24-hour acute care and crisis stabilization,

to help individuals overcome dependence on alcohol, prescription pain

medications or controlled substances such as barbiturates and opiates.

Our chemical dependency treatment services include:

• Medically managed alcohol and drug detoxification

• 12-step recovery and continuing care programs

• Individual, family and group counseling services

• Inpatient and intensive outpatient rehabilitation

• Partial hospitalization

Outpatient ProgramsIn addition to our inpatient services, Pacific Grove offers a series of

outpatient programs to help individuals get the care and support they

need to succeed in their everyday lives. Our Partial Hospitalization

Program meets Monday through Friday and the Intensive Outpatient

Program meets three (3) days per week.

Both programs offer three tracks:

• Psychiatric treatment

• Chemical dependency treatment

• Dual treatment for both mental health and addiction

Each track includes intensive therapy and educational groups, exercise

groups, and individual and family therapy, as needed. We also employ a

community model to empower patients to become more assertive and

learn how to interact with others in a healthy way.
