Genitiv-s (Peter’s book) The Genitive with ’sFör att visa att någon äger eller har något läggs ett s efter ordet, liksom i svenskan. Men i engelskan sätts även en apostrof (’) före s-et. (Gäller ord i singular)To show that someone owns or has something, add an s to the word, as in Swedish. But in English you also put an apostrophe (’) before the s. (Words in the singular.)

Verbet Be: Frågor The verb to be: Asking questions
I ett påstående står subjektet först, sedan verbet. In statements the subject comes first, then the verb:
Subjekt + Verb
I am hungry. Jag är hungrig The dog is thirsty. Hunden är törstig
I frågor med verbet be byter subjekt och verb plats, liksom i svenskan. In questions with the verb to be, the subject and the verb change places:
Verb + Subjekt
Am I hungry? Är jag hungrig? Is the dog thirsty? Är hunden törstig?

A -er, -est
• De flesta korta adjektiv får ändelserna -er och -est. Most short adjectives take the endings -er and -est.
