CHAIRMAN’SCIRCLE
The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce is please to present the 7th Annual Fall Business Showcase "Treasures of Tehachapi" on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at West Park Activity Center, 410 West D Street in Tehachapi.
This one day Showcase provides local businesses and owners a unique opportunity to do both business-to-business networking and a chance to display their goods and services to the general public.
Attendees will receive a map upon arrival and go on a treasure hunt visiting exhibitor booths and having their map stamped. Once the map has been stamped by all exhibitors, attendees can turn in their map in to be entered into a drawing for a great prize valued at over $200.
Participation is open to anyone and Chamber membership is not required,
though membership means discounted fees for Showcase participation. To promote their distinctive menus, several area restaurants will provide samplesof their fare for those in attendance. In addition, free Wi-Fi will be provided for all exhibitors.
We ask that all exhibitor booths be decorated with the "Pirate theme. Prizes will be awarded for 1st & 2nd Place.
Admission the day to the event is free to all attendees and we expect 400-500 people to attend. The first 200 attendees will receive a free reusable cotton tote bag.
The Fall Business Showcase is an inexpensive way to promote business to potential clients. We hope our members and the business community at large will take advantage of this cost-effective means to reach customers.
For information on the numerous Exhibitor and Sponsorship opportunities, please contact the Chamber at 661-822-4180 or click here.
Exhibitor space is limited and we expect to be sold out again this year, so please register early. Registration deadline is Friday, August 5, 2016.

Please join the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce at our July Chamber Network Luncheon, Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 12:00 p.m. at our new location, Big Papa's Steakhouse & Saloon, 1001 W Tehachapi Blvd, C200. Our guest speaker will be Nancy Garcia, Community Outreach Coordinator for CASA of Kern County. What is a CASA Volunteer? It is a person who has been recruited, screened, selected, and trained, who is being supervised and supported by a local CASA program, and who has been appointed by the juvenile court as a sworn officer of the court to help define the best interest of a child or children in the juvenile court dependency and wordship proceedings. As of today we have 51 children in the waiting list for a CASA, and there are over 2,100 children in the decency system in Kern County. CASA is having a Summer Training from July 25th to July 29th from 9-5 pm, we would definitely like the opportunity to raise awareness of this training and also awareness of the children in Kern County that are in the Foster Care System. OUR MISSIONThe Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Kern County speaks for abused and neglected children in the juvenile dependency process. Through the use of highly trained volunteers, the CASA program seeks to provide every child who needs an advocate with a voice in the court process.OUR GOALCASA of Kern County's goal is to protect and insure each child's right to a safe, permanent home. These children have come into the Juvenile Dependency court system as the victims of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. Their caretakers have been unable to keep them safe, so social services and the legal systems have entered their lives. The cost is $15 for Chamber Members, $20 for Non-Chamber members, which includes lunch. Reservations are required. Please make your reservation by calling the Chamber at 661-822-4180. Reservation deadline is Friday, July 15, 2016.

A special offer to Business Leaders to attend the Bakersfield Business Conference October 8, 2016
Yes, the Bakersfield Business Conference will be held less than one month before the presidential election and itwill be captivating. We have arranged to present 40 nationally recognized speakers and entertainers who we will continue to announce in the weeks ahead...all in one patriotic day.
On June 1, 2016, we will direct mail our lineup to over 100,000 individuals and we want our business leaders to have the first chance to purchase tickets before the rest of California and the country finds out what is happening this October in Bakersfield. For a limited time, you can purchase one to four tickets for $450 each, five to nine tickets for $420 each, or $395 each for ten or more tickets. To purchase tickets at this price, complete and mail the attached form, or purchase on the www.bakersfieldbusinessconference.com, or call our ticket hotline at (661) 371-2204 before June 1st.
This year’s event will again be held outdoors at Cal State University, Bakersfield. There will be a large main tent with table and chairs for seating, plus a business tent, a “How To” practical tips tent where you can hear from financial and economic advisers, and a “Meet the Lenders” event with noted bankers, insurers, venture capitalists and investors all day long! The speakers will be scheduled so that if there is a speaker in the main tent that is not of political, economic or business of your choosing, you can leave the main tent and enjoy an opposing view point in one of the other venues and get back to the main stage in time for the next speaker. We are currently working with one group to potentially broadcast one segment of the program nationally.
Since the Summer Olympics are being held this year, we are adding an Olympian Pavilion to the excitement of the event where you can meet and greet Olympic stars. We will also have Honky-Tonk music area where four of the top bands in Kern County will be playing their music throughout the day away from the main tent for those who want to take a break. The gates will open at 7:00 a.m. for complimentary continental breakfast and musical entertainment will be provided as you enter. Two opening speakers and entertainers will be appearing in the outside venues from 8:00 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. The Conference will conclude with a picnic, featuring music and dancing with Chubby Checker and his Wild Cats. The gates will close at 9:30 p.m.
In addition to the other tents with speakers running simultaneously, you can also visit the the Beer & Wine Garden, speaker meet & greets at the Stars & Stripes Arcade and Olympic Pavilion, enjoy the amusement rides, as well as complimentary food and refreshments at the Ice Cream Pavilion, Farmers Market and refreshment tents. All food and non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary all day long. Visit our website at www.bakersfieldbusinesconference.com for more information on the speakers and conference activities.
Remember...prices increase on June 1st, with seat assignments based upon date of receipt of purchase. Bring a client and make a friend and memories to last a lifetime!
