PoemsBy Jasmine Lee
MidnightMidnight, When no cars crawl down the lonely streets, The darkness invites his silent friends, For a party that is not seen or heard,
One by one they come in, Shaped as humans, But no live form is around, These shadows are here to stay,
They prance in the night, Taking forms of unknown things, In the dark night, Everyone is asleep,
The wind may chime a mellow tune, But soon gets lost in the frightening gloom, For there is no moon, To guide you through this ongoing path.
Personification
Quatrain
FeathersFloating on a silent breeze,A bird flies over and out of the trees,Leaving magnificent feathers in its path,A beauty you can’t calculate with math,
Dancing in the air,Passing people stare,Colors of red and blue,Plush and elegant too,
Feathers in the sky,I can’t deny,That I was getting teary eyed,Blessed I am tonight.
Fish Bowl
In the living room, Across the carpet, Towards the kitchen, Up the stairs, Into the bedroom, Beside the desk, Onto the stool, Over the fish bowl, Into the water, Out comes the fish, MEOW!

Camomile Tea by Katherine Mansfield
Outside the sky is light with stars; There's a hollow roaring from the sea. And, alas! for the little almond flowers,The wind is shaking the almond tree.
How little I thought, a year ago,In the horrible cottage upon the LeeThat he and I should be sitting soAnd sipping a cup of camomile tea.
Light as feathers the witches fly,The horn of the moon is plain to see;By a firefly under a jonquil flowerA goblin toasts a bumble-bee.
We might be fifty, we might be five,So snug, so compact, so wise are we!Under the kitchen-table legMy knee is pressing against his knee.
Our shutters are shut, the fire is low,The tap is dripping peacefully; The saucepan shadows on the wallAre black and round and plain to see.
