SCOPE: This specification establishes the requirements for inhibited polyolester based synthetic compress

lubricant containing no lubricity enhancing additives. This material is suitable for use in screw compresso

for general purpose refrigeration and air conditioning applications.

MATERIAL: For Carrier plants to purchase materials covered by this specification, and be used in Carri

 products, the material must be approved by Engineering and the supplier’s quality system must b

Qualified/Certified by the Carrier user plant.

SUPPLIER APPROVAL: Carrier may elect to test, in accordance with the requirements of this specificatio

a quantity of material necessary to give valid results. The material must be supplied from a production ru

using standard production methods. Only material that has met all requirements will be classified

“approved”. Approved suppliers are listed on the last page of this specification.

SUPPLIER QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION: The Carrier user plant, or designated lead purchasin

 plant, must qualify/certify all suppliers of production materials in accordance with the existing Carri

Supplier Quality Assurance Requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Qualification Testing: Oil submitted for qualification testing must represent current production and be

accompanied by the latest OSHA 20 form (MSDS). The sample will be tested for compliance to the tests in

Performance Requirements and any other CML Product Engineering deems necessary (e.g., a trial production

or field test).

Acceptance And Rejection: Incoming shipments of oil may be tested for conformance to any or all of th

requirements listed in the Performance Requirements. The oil shall also be tested for conformance to the fi

sample using gas chromatography. Failure to pass any of the tests may be cause for rejection of the shipmen

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET:

All materials covered in this specification must have a recent (< 2 years old) copy of an OSHA 20 for(MSDS) or applicable regional form disclosing hazardous material content on file in the Corporate Industri

Hygiene Department. Suppliers must supply a copy with each material submitted for qualification or upo

changes in material content or rules governing such disclosures. The Engineering Department requesting th

specification is responsible for delivering the correct form to the Corporate Industrial Hygiene Department.
