Josh yn creu argraff gyda gwaith ieuenctidJosh impresses with youth work

Josh Lewis was presented with an international award at the Wales Volunteer of the Year Awards in June.

Despite a tough childhood and adolescence Josh is determined to become a youth worker to help other young people with similar problems.

Josh, aged 24, is a senior volunteer at YMCA Swansea, ensuring the smooth running of various youth groups and the youth department. He also assists by organising trips and volunteering on a Saturday to take young people to various events.

Josh recently volunteered in Togo, Africa with YCARE International, which provides overseas volunteering opportunities for young people. Josh was extremely enthusiastic and straight away started to plan fundraising ideas.

Josh said ‘Everything I have achieved this year, and over the last two years would not have been possible without some of the amazing people I have been lucky enough to meet along the way, in France, Togo and back here in the UK. Thank you all!’

Mae Josh, sy’n 24, yn uwch wirfoddolwr yn YMCA, gan sicrhau bod grwpiau ieuenctid amrywiol a’r adran ieuenctid yn rhedeg yn esmwyth. Mae’n helpu hefyd i drefnu teithiau ac yn gwirfoddoli ar ddydd Sadwrn i fynd a’r bobl ifanc i wahanol ddigwyddiadau.

Bu Josh yn gwirfoddoli yn Togo, Affrica yn ddiweddar gyda YCARE International, sy’n cynnig cyfleoedd gwirfoddoli dramor i bobl ifanc. Roedd Josh yn fwy na pharod ac aeth ati ar unwaith i gynllunio ffyrdd o godi arian.

Meddai Josh: ‘Fyddai popeth rwyf wedi’i gyflawni eleni, ac yn ystod y ddwy flynedd diwethaf ddim wedi bod yn bosib heb y bobl arbennig rwyf wedi bod yn ddigon lwcus i’w cwrdd ar hyd y ffordd, yn Ffrainc, Togo a nôl yma ym Mhrydain. Diolch i chi gyd!’

The role will also involve working with couples who have completed our gender-specifi c programmes.
