Using the book and film of Michael Foreman’sWar Game, and excerpts of Goodnight, MisterTom, the children explore life during the greatwars.

What happened to the children? The parents? The buildings? What was the war all about? What would happen when the air raid siren went off?

Who were the Ancient Greeks? When did they live? What were the lives of the children like? What was the Minotaur and who killed it?

Using films like Clash Of The Titans and Troy,the children explore the facts and the mythssurrounding the people of this ancientcivilization, making and filming their ownmythical monster adventure!PRIMARY EDUCATION COURSES

Oliver Twist takes the children through a tour ofVictorian London, studying the people, events,sights, sounds (and smells!) of this amazingtime. The children create their own Victorianscene and try their very best to pick a pocketor two before the bobbies arrive! But not beforethey film an advert for their own amazinginvention to feature in the Great Exhibition!

Roll Up!

Cleopatra. The Pyramids. Mummies. All areexplored in detail in our study of Ancient Egypt,using the great Hollywood classics and the newMummy movies.

The children research the facts and stories ofthe time, create and record their own Egyptianfashion show, and film their own embalmingand mummification.

Gruesome indeed!

If you block-book inadvance for one of our programmed screenings tickets are just£3 per child and free of charge for accompanying teachers.

For groups of over 50 we can put on a private daytime filmscreening of your choice, subject to film availability.

FILMMAKING PROJECTS

Lights, Camera... Action!Script, shoot and edit a film with professional filmmakersusing industry-standard equipment. Top it all off by coming toBroadway to see the results on the big screen - withpopcorn!

Practical filmmaking projects can be tailored to meetindividual budgets and can take place at Broadway or at yourschool.

They do require a bigger budget than our courses but we arehappy to assist with ideas for fundraising. Why not considerteaming up with other schools for a jointly funded project?

Broadway Primary Education Courses are aimed at Y3 to Y6 and are all designed using the currentobjectives and learning outcomes detailed in theNational Curriculum and Frameworks. Theycontain clear and differentiated success criteria forthe children to aspire to.

The courses are delivered by qualified teachers who areexperienced in the latest Primary Education strategies andapproaches and are all CRB checked.

They can be run in your school or, for the ultimate experience,here at Broadway in our cinema and workshop spaces.

All courses can be booked for one, two, three or five days, and canbe run over consecutive days or over a number of weeks. Coursescan also be adapted to meet your specific curriculum needs.

Broadway Primary Education Courses are designed toenhance your curriculum or simply to offer you an excitingand inspiring way to cover your PPA or supply needs.

Exploring the language used to createNarnia and the creatures that livethere, the children will use variousstrategies to improve their descriptivewriting and develop their use of settingand characterisation in their ownstories.

Using clips and advice from working TVpresenters, the children will study how towrite and present different types ofinstructions before using their own words to present and film their own cookery or art show! It’s great!

Using the acclaimed documentarySharkwater, the children learn about theplight of the shark in our waters, and howthey are threatened by hunters and ourown mistreatment of the oceans. Theyresearch, write and present arguments tosupport their own point of view andpresent it in a serious debate at the end ofthe course.

With classic movie versions of these booksguaranteed to capture the hearts of theclass, this visual exploration of these classictexts delves deep into the characters, thesettings and the work of the authorsthemselves.

The children will write their own ‘nextchapter’ following the author’s style and filmtheir own scenes to go into the movie!

Children love the movies! The crazy, scarycharacters, the dark, mysterious locations,the pratfalls and predicaments of the heroesthey love. The Broadway Primary EducationProgramme aims to combine their love andenthusiasm for film with their Literacy andTopic studies at school.

Using a range of new and well-loved moviesand, of course, film-making, our courses willbring your curriculum to life in a trulyinspiring and unforgettable way.

What happened to the children? The parents? The buildings? What was the war all about? What would happen when the air raid siren went off?

Who were the Ancient Greeks? When did they live? What were the lives of the children like? What was the Minotaur and who killed it?

Using films like Clash Of The Titans and Troy,the children explore the facts and the mythssurrounding the people of this ancientcivilization, making and filming their ownmythical monster adventure!PRIMARY EDUCATION COURSES

Oliver Twist takes the children through a tour ofVictorian London, studying the people, events,sights, sounds (and smells!) of this amazingtime. The children create their own Victorianscene and try their very best to pick a pocketor two before the bobbies arrive! But not beforethey film an advert for their own amazinginvention to feature in the Great Exhibition!

Roll Up!

Cleopatra. The Pyramids. Mummies. All areexplored in detail in our study of Ancient Egypt,using the great Hollywood classics and the newMummy movies.

The children research the facts and stories ofthe time, create and record their own Egyptianfashion show, and film their own embalmingand mummification.

Gruesome indeed!

FILMMAKING PROJECTS

Lights, Camera... Action!Script, shoot and edit a film with professional filmmakersusing industry-standard equipment. Top it all off by coming toBroadway to see the results on the big screen - withpopcorn!

Practical filmmaking projects can be tailored to meetindividual budgets and can take place at Broadway or at yourschool.

They do require a bigger budget than our courses but we arehappy to assist with ideas for fundraising. Why not considerteaming up with other schools for a jointly funded project?

Broadway Primary Education Courses are aimed at Y3 to Y6 and are all designed using the currentobjectives and learning outcomes detailed in theNational Curriculum and Frameworks. Theycontain clear and differentiated success criteria forthe children to aspire to.

The courses are delivered by qualified teachers who areexperienced in the latest Primary Education strategies andapproaches and are all CRB checked.

They can be run in your school or, for the ultimate experience,here at Broadway in our cinema and workshop spaces.

All courses can be booked for one, two, three or five days, and canbe run over consecutive days or over a number of weeks. Coursescan also be adapted to meet your specific curriculum needs.
