Principals Message: Every Child Matters On September 30th Maywood students and staff will be wearing orange to recognize and remember those who attended residential schools. It is an opportunity for us to learn more about the history of residential schools, the survivors and their families and how every child matters. We will be listening to Phyllisstory and how she had her orange shirt taken away on her first day at residential school. We will learn about the ways in which culture and tradition were taken away from Indigenous people and the ways in which we can move forward together in our ongoing journey of reconciliation. Thank you for talking with your child about Orange Shirt Day.
