Northern Diver’s reputation as one of the world’s elite drysuit and diving equipment manufacturers has its roots in our

else required to maximise pleasure and safety when diving that we’ve been able to develop such an advanced range and

responsive customer service.

Consequently, we are now established as the most innovative, competitive and reliable brand - which means you can look

Diving has developed dramatically during the last three decades - Northern Diver has worked hard to help shape it. What has

allowed us to make the difference is our broad range of experience and the innovative drive of the team.

We look at getting the details right and produce the products that we ourselves would want to use. Adherence to such a

philosophy is why, for example, our neo-vulcanised heavy-duty boots are considered to be the most comfortable and durable

on the market. We insist all our suppliers meet the same exacting standards. By working closely with them we have been able

to develop components such as the market-leading swivel inflation valve - now a standard feature on all our drysuits. We have

been working closely with our partnered and in-house technical engineers and high-tech manufacturers to bring even more

innovative products to you while providing excellent value for money.

Northern Diver is increasingly the choice of top diving personalities and commercial divers for suits and equipment.

The renowned life-saving properties of our suits has been responsible for the safety of many divers exposed to extreme

conditions. For example, experienced BBC underwater cameramen have used Northern Diver protection in Antarctica to

isolate themselves from water nearing -2 degrees C. Commercial divers trust our suits and equipment on a daily basis. Cave

Colder weather needn’t mean the end of having fun in the water.

In water temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit a full wetsuit is required and if below 60 degrees F then you will need a thicker wetsuit.

A thicker wetsuit is less flexible than a thinner one, but by using a 5mm/3mm wetsuit you can have the best of both worlds.

Of course some people feel the cold more than others, but the 5mm/3mm approach gives more options for having more fun, in more comfort.

“As the lowest costing BCD of those being reviewed, the Guardian offers extremely good value for money without scrimping on features. It has no fewer than 12 stainless-steel D-rings, which offer every type of kit configuration. All the fastening clips are very positive and easy to undo with gloved hands. There are two dump valves as

standard and a blanking cap is provided should a third one be required.

A nice touch is the inclusion of an air horn, which is built into the inflator, for attracting attention at the surface. The pockets are massive, although the Velcro fastener doesn’t look very strong, which is the only small criticism that we have.”

Dive Review – The Verdict: ‘An abundance of features at an excellent value price’

“How Northern Diver manages to produce a jacket of this standard for this price is something the other manufacturers should be worried about. The Guardian offers very good value for money. When it comes to features, the jacket is nothing special, but for the UK sport diver it is more than adequate. The pockets are huge, although I would have liked to see a bit more Velcro or even a zip to secure their contents. There are plenty of D-rings and two hose clips.

Apart from the Commando, the Guardian is the only BC to offer an air-bottle option. The kit comes with the jacket but the bottle is an optional extra. In use this BC was on par with all the other BCs tested and, as we didn’t have the air cylinder option, we found the pouch useful for storing a DSMB. In terms of looks, this BC wins no prizes but it offers excellent value for money.”

A unique approach to managing weight and buoyancy allowing fine tuning your weight distribution.

The Northern Diver Weight and Trim has evolved over several years and is now the most comfortable and ergonomic it has ever been. It has a loyal following of divers who swear by it’s ease of use and ability to trim the weight distribution around a diver’s body.

Once in use, the weights are securely fastened but can be easily and independently jettisoned if required. The pockets can be used for carrying weights or cargo and the attached knife loops fit the KN65 diving knife.

The Northern Diver Cylinder Clamp System is manufactured from highly durable, anodized aluminium.

The male (shorter) component attaches to the main cylinder using the BCD cylinder attachment straps/bands and the female (longer) component attaches to the pony cylinder using the included stainless steel clips. Protective rubbers prevent the clip damaging the tank paintwork. The main clamp assembly also has protective rubber inserts.

Seal LubricantOne of the most frequent causes of leaks in drysuits is a faulty valve. This is not because they’re badly manufactured or fitted incorrectly, but more often than not the product of foreign matter breaking their otherwise intact seal.

Northern Diver has developed a specially designed lubricant that is both effective and guaranteed not to damage

The first stage unit has two low pressure (LP) and one high pressure (HP) port on each side, giving a total of six ports. The regulator is sold with a standard yoke connection, and is approved for use with cylinder pressures up to 232 bar.

The Jupiter, with its environmentally sealed first stage, is suitable for cold water and more extreme diving.

Environmental ProtectionAs well as enjoying first stage protection for normal diving conditions, the Jupiter is also suitable for dirty water or cold water diving conditions.

The Jupiter first stage employs an environmental sealing system - an end cap diaphragm seals the ambient chamber from the water.

Second StageThe Jupiter second stage allows the diver to adjust its’ sensitivity.

By rotating the adjustment control, the valve can work at maximum performance during a dive and can be set to reduced sensitivity for other times when the valve is not being used for breathing, such as surface swimming.
