Seminar sessions will focus on practical methods for modeling, teaching and assessing writing through a workshop model. Through this comprehensive four-day seminar, participants will learn how to assess students in order to match instruction to their readers, enhance their students’ reading experience and accelerate student progress. Seminar sessions will focus on conferring with K-5th grade readers, planning interactive read alouds, writing effective minilessons and much more! DAY 1 iPads in the Classroom. A review of basics skills, advanced tips, current trends, and top apps. DAY 2 Digital Storytelling through Stop-Motion Animation. Learn the steps involved in creating stop-motion movies, from storyboard- ing to post production. Tips for getting the most out of the filming experience will be shared. DAY 3 Integrating STEAM in the Everyday Classroom. Do you want to bring programming, ro- botics, and 3D design into your curricu- lum? Transform the way you think about STEAM. WRITING

Sarah FinnemoreSarah Finnemore specializes in literacy and curriculum development. She has taught third, fourth and fifth grades as a generaleducation teacher in both public and private schools. She was a lead staff developer and literacy coach with Pinellas CountySchools for 5 years. Sarah currently te aches fourth grade at Shorecrest and teaches daily reading and writing workshops.

READING

Megan Kotsko Megan Kotsko teaches Kindergarten and has prior teaching experience in 1st and 2nd grade. She is a graduate studentof the University of South Florida where she is completing a master’s degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. Shehas extensive experience in teaching Reading and Writing Workshop in the primary grades. Her expertise in literacy ed-ucation includes read alouds with accountable talk, assessment, conferring, and instructional leadership.

TECHNOLOGY

Amy CobbAmy Cobb is a 2009 NAIS Teacher of the Future and a 2011 recipient of the FCIS DeWitt E. and Vera M. Hooker Fel-lowship Grant for iPad use. Her passion for reading, writing and technology integration highlights best practices in theEnglish classroom. Amy has presented at the following national conferences: AMLE 2011, FCIS 2011, AMLE 2012,NAEA 2014, and ISTE 2014.

Christine Scoby Christine Scoby holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Technology and has taught many yearsin the Lower and Middle Schools at Shorecrest Preparatory School. Christine is a Discovery Den Star educator and has pre-sented at AMLE 2012 , FCIS 2013, and ISTE 2014 on technology integration, and presented training at other schools. Sheintegrates core academic curriculum within her technology course in all middle school grades to enhance, connect, reinforceand expand concepts taught in the classroom.

Anna BaraltAnna Baralt holds a Doctorate in Educational Technology from the University of Florida. She taught preschool and ele-mentary students for 17 years before becoming Shorecrest’s Director of Educational Technology. In this role, she providessupport in designing curriculum and technology integration and facilitates professional development school-wide. Annawas recognized as a Teacher of the Future by the National Association of Independent Schools in 2008 and a Superpower

Educator in 2009. She is also a 2010 recipient of the FCIS (Florida Council of Independent Schools) DeWitt E. and Vera M. Hooker FellowshipGrant as well as a 2013 Benedict Foundation Grant. Anna is passionate about integrating technology into project work, 1:1 learning programs,fostering digital citizenship, STEAM education, and using technology to facilitate professional learning communities. She has presented at nu-merous local and national conferences and has been published in several peer-reviewed educational journals.
