US based Independent Software Vendor (ISV) providing technology solutions for the retail industry to monetize their POS data. They kicked o� their business with data warehouse consultancy services for their retail clients eventually moving towards advanced data analytics solution for di�erent domains of Retail industry such as Beauty/Cosmetic, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), DIY-Home-Hardware, Apparels/Fashion etc.

While o�ering data warehousing services, clientrealized that their end-clients required an analytical solution which would accumulate and process their raw sales data. That is how the idea of a BI based analytical solution came to the fore. A solution was intended to provide insightful reports to drive revenue for their end-clients. Client had the vision but lacked the BI expertise to execute the project and therefore was looking for a technology partner with expert BI resources and experience in product development for retailers.

Here is the data architecture which enabled users to respond faster, optimize assortments, increase sales and provides best practices in retail merchandising:
Cygnet developed a comprehensive cloud based SaaS solution based on Microsoft SQL server capabilities and Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) tools. Cygnet also provided rich web and mobile based analytics solution to collect and analyze EDI 852, POS and supply chain data.
Automated data gathering from EDI 852 and other retail POS eliminating manual handling errors. System also enabled users to manually upload past data for year-over-year comparison
Once collected, data is cleansed and validated using SQL Server Integration Service to calculate sell-thru, margins, average sales and many more such values.
Customized Data Warehouse created using extended star schema with personalized storage so that businesses can avoid storing their data internally. The data is stored at item and storelevel for long-term trend analysis.
Personalized dashboard created using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service to provide one-click access to data with graphical data visualization. Detailed standard reportsautomatically processed providing insights such as top sellers, sell-thru, on-hand and stock out exposure. The data was accessible fromsmartphones and tablets through an app and a web portal to access it from computer system.
Single click data analytics was enabled usingMicrosoft SQL Server Reporting Service to provide quick and easy sorting and filtering of data based on demographics by store and zip codes. Detailed reports like Partner Summary, SKU Sales Detail, Trend Charts helped various businesses asses their profitability.
This solution facilitated their end clients to export, share notes and send detailed reports to their sales representatives and buyers by integrating with their current business operating systems.
