The Pipe Supports group is a truly global supplier of pipe support and restraint equipment to the power generation, oil, gas, petro-chemical, LNg, renewables and waste water industries. With manufacturing plants, design and sales offices throughout the world the group has an unrivalled reputation for quality, design and service.
Part of Hill & Smith Holdings plc, the Pipe Supports group continues to expand its global presence with modern manufacturing facilities located in the US, China, India, Thailand and the UK. Now, following the integration of the North American group of Bergen Power Pipe Supports, Carpenter & Paterson Inc and Process Pipe Support Systems, Pipe Supports group offers the most comprehensive range of hangers and restraints under its Bergen Pipe Supports brand.
Our size and manufacturing capability ensure that we have the capacity around the world to deliver fast and cost effective product while the group’s 65 sales engineering offices & representatives enables the delivery of local solutions to our customers right across the world.
Engineered Supports
The product range is constantly evolving and developing to meet the changing needs of our customers. It not only includes the full range of engineered constant and variable effort supports, pipe clamps and ancillary components along with a full range of commodity hardware, but also the very latest designs of snubbers and restraints, supports for cryogenic and LNg applications, isolation and bearing products – everything that customers need to safely hold, manage, restrain and fix pipework in every situation.
Quality Assurance
Our manufacturing plants meet all the necessary quality standards. The UK plant has been awarded ASME ‘NS’ Approved Vendor status for both the design and fabrication of products, ensuring full confidence for its nuclear customers. Combined with our NPT stamp at our Donora facility we are able to offer nuclear class product from both the UK & the USA.
Commodity Hardware
All commercial construction, from airports and water treatment plants right through to office buildings, requires a range of simple pipework supports, clamps and commodity hardware. The Pipe Supports group, with the expertise gained from the acquisition of Carpenter & Paterson Inc. in the US, has the engineering expertise to manufacture and deliver this equipment to both its traditional markets and large building projects.
Operating a network of distribution centres in the US giving next day delivery, Carpenter & Paterson Inc. provides the group with considerable expertise in the commodity hardware market.
Global Manufacturing
1. Droitwich, UK The global Head Office is located in the heart of the UK, providing financial management, strategic planning & quality assurance support for the group. The modern manufacturing unit produces the full range of Bergen Pipe Supports constant and variable spring hangers, rigid struts and snubbers,Comlin isolation products, slide bearings and ancillary products.
2. Donora, USA The largest US site, Donora supplies pipe supports and related steel fabrications to US nuclear and fossil power generation plants, and specialises in supplying supports to all ASME codes from 1971. With over 180,000ft² of space the plant holds both ASME NPT and ASME NS certification.
3. Bangkok, Thailand With two factories in close proximity, the plant forms the hub of the group’s operations in the Far East. Manufacturing the full range of pipe supports, hangers and associated fabrications, it is the major facility producing cryogenic and high density polyurethane foam supports. Totalling 143,000ft², the plants are the export hub of the group’s manufacturing capacity for servicing the world’s power and petro-chemical industries.
4. Waggaman, USA The Waggaman site manufactures and distributes pipe supports, hangers and steel fabrications and commodity hardware across the US and is the focus of the group’s waste water and water reclamation services and serves the oil & gas industry in the gulf of Mexico. The 75,000ft² plant on a 20 acre site is the HQ of the group’s Carpenter & Paterson Inc. activities.
5. Jingjiang, China Primarily manufacturing for the Chinese power and petrochemical industries, the Jingjiang plant not only manufactures a wide range of pipe supports and hangers. The 30,000ft² plant also plays a key role in supporting the commodity hardware business in the USA.
6. Sri City, India The group’s newest plant, opened in 2012, Sri City supplies to the growing power generation business in India as well as petrochemical and offshore industries. Equipped with the most up to date manufacturing equipment, constant and variable spring hangers, rigid struts, hangers and slide bearings are produced in this plant. Currently standing at 65,000ft², the plant is designed to be easily expanded to take advantage of future growth potential.
Design Software
The Pipe Supports group supplies its customers with specialist pipe support software which fully integrates with all the major pipework and plant design packages including Aveva and Intergraph, making support identification and selection much easier.
PS Designer, the most comprehensive 3D pipe support design package, provides time saving drafting with reduced errors for customers as well as a range of features including intelligent selection and clash detection.
The group also provides a range of other customer support including full catalogues in both metric and imperial sizes.
