Psychedelia shaping the youth of today.
Pyschedelia was all about LSD,psychedelic rock, tie dyed tees,
hippiesand the summer of love.quick to spread all over the
world.
The music scene was greatly influencedby the explosion of
psychedelic rock bands.Even after it faded out of itsoverwhelming
popularity, still managed
to carve out a niche of sorts for itself.The subculture to this
date has managedto develop its own art music, politics,religious
beliefs and lifestyle. I n fact
there are political groups who areworkin to have LSD le
alized!

Drugs aside, the psychedelic subculture has made
many contributions in the areas of art, music and
politics
Art underwent a revolution. Psychedelic art which
started out mostly in the jackets of music albums
or on tie dyed shirts is now a full blown art form
in itself.
I nterior designers such as Karim R ashid mix
contemporary ideas with a heavy dose of
psychedelic influence to create interiors the likes
of which are incomparable in their visual impact.
Painters have created works of art which
nowadays can fetch astronomical prices. Art
which resembles R orschach ink blots observed in
a haze of LSD influenced highness.

Creativity has reached a new pinnacle andthe imagination seems
to know no bounds.
The downside of this subcultures enduring
popularity and devoted following
(R astafarians deserve a special nod here) is
that drugs have very divided opinions on
them ranging from those who have formed
political groups to legalize them to those
who wish to ban their very production and
finish them off at the source.
