The contractor will be held responsible for the duedeiivcry of all loading in the like good order and con-dition as when received by him. The value of any miss-ing or damaged articles or package, including cost of car-riage, to be paid by the contractor.

In the event of the contractor failing to satisfactorilycarry out the contract, the Postmaster - General shall havethe right of determining the contract, or of carrying itout at the cost and risk of the contractor.

Payment equal to 75 per cent. on the value of cartageperformed will be made on delivery of loading at destina-tion, the balance, less any deductions, together with thedeposit, to be paid on completion of the contract.

White Iabour only must be employed in the conveyanceof the stores and materials, and the rate of wages paid bythe contractor and the working conditions shall be thoserecognised in the locality in which the work is performed.

Tenders must be on the proper forms, and accompaniedby a depositof Five (5) per cent. of the total amount ofthe tender, in accordance with clause 5 in the GeneralConditions.
