Quin Clooney Maghera Parish Notes 5th Sunday of Lent — 7th April 2019
Daily Mass: (Quin) Mon-Thurs 9.30am Fri: 7.30pm

Church Cleaners: New recruits are needed to help with the weekly cleaning of Quin church. If you would have a spare half hour to assist on Wednesday morning after mass please give your name into the sacristy.
Thank You!: To all who subscribed to the special collection last weekend for The Needs of the Diocese & Holy See. If you were away or forgot, you can place this special (Green) envelope that is in your box of envelopes into the basket any Sunday. This collection assists Bishop Fintan in the running of the Diocese. The Parish is also levied by the Diocese on this collection. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Trócaire: This weekend at all Masses we welcome Liam Fahy a guest speaker from Trócaire who will tell us all about this years Lenten Campaign. The Trocaire Collection will be taken up at Good Friday Ceremonies. You can return your Trocaire boxes or the special envelope (purple) in your box of envelopes at this time. You can also place this special envelope in the Sunday Collection basket at anytime. We thank you for your great support to Trocaire.
First Penance: The Second Class Children from Scoil Na Mainistreach and Clooney NS will celebrate the Sacrament of Penance for the first time on Wednesday Evening April 10th at 7pm in Quin Church.
Bake Sale on April 7th at 11am in Quin Hall in aid of Clooney/Quin U12 Camogie team. Funds raised will be used to support teams trip to ‘Caman 2 Croker’ on 22nd April where they will be representing Clare.

Many thanks: A total of €686.70 was contributed (Quin: €358.90, Clooney/Maghera: €327.80) to the Churchgate collection last weekend in aid of the Community Hospice at Cahercalla. The management of the Hospice, and the lo-cal organisers (Quin Active Retired Association), express deep gratitude and appreciation for your generosity.
The Annual Matt Talbot Novena will continue on Wednesday, 10th April at 7:00PM in Tulla Church. Fr Francis Xavi-er, Shannon will deliver the reflection. The Novena is offered each year as a spiritual support to all people that suffer addictions of any kind as well as those who share life with people who have addictions. Confessions will take place at the Novena in preparation for Easter.
Quin/Clooney Community Games hosted the County Talent competition on Saturday last March 30th in Quin Com-munity Centre. Over 18 Areas from around the county participated in the event. Quin/Clooney won 4 Gold medal Titles and they now go onto represent Co. Clare at the National Finals in May. Congratulations to all who took part and Best of luck to those representing us at Nationals. Thanks to everyone for helping out on the day.
Clooney Quin GAA club: We understand tickets for Munster Championship game Clare V Waterford will be distrib-uted through clubs and may not be available on general sale as the capacity of Walsh Park set at 11,000. Due to antic-ipated high demand the Club will only accept requests from persons who are paid members of the club. Membership can be paid at www.clooneyquingaa.ie and click on Membership. Ennis Mental Health Association presents: Emotional Resilience: How to safeguard your mental health, a talk by Dr. Harry Barry, GP, Mental Health Expert and author. Holy Week Ceremonies
Abbey Pastoral Area Reconciliation Service: Monday 15th April at 7.30pm in Ennis Cathedral. The theme of this year's
service is "Call to Change".
Annual Chrism Mass: Wednesday 17 April at 7.30pm in Ennis Cathedral. This Mass is celebrated by Bishop Fintan
where he will bless the Sacred Oils used during the year in the parishes throughout the Diocese. The Bishops and
Priests of the Diocese will also renew their commitment to ministry. This Mass is organised by the Abbey Pastoral
Area and many from our parish are involved.
Holy Thursday: April 18th Mass of the Lord's Supper will take place at 8pm in Clooney.
Good Friday: April 19th Celebration of the Lord's Passion will take place at 3pm in Quin Church. "Stations of the
Cross For Our Times" will take place at 7pm in Maghera Church.
Holy Saturday: April 20th Vigil Mass of the Lord's Resurrection will take place at 8pm in Clooney Church.
Easter Sunday Dawn Mass April 21st: In Quin Abbey will be celebrated at 5.30am.
