Take a moment and Wonder.. Every October, Rotarians are encouraged to focus their attention on vocational service. Vocational ServiceMonth is an opportunity to begin year-long vocational service activities, ranging from Rotary discussions toawards to community projects.

The concept of Vocational Service calls on Rotarians to encourage and foster: High ethical standards in business and professionsThe recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupationsThe dignifying of each Rotarians occupation as an opportunity to serve society

Therefore, take a moment and ask yourself:Do you value and recognize all useful occupations?Do you strive for the highest ethical standards?Do you use your vocational talents to serve society?

As a Rotarian, how can you put these ideals into action? Consider these suggestions:Talk about your vocation in your club, and take time to learn aboutfellow members vocations.Use your professional skills to serve a community.Practice your profession with integrity, and inspire others to

behave ethically through your own words and actions.Help a young person achieve his or her career aspirations.Guide and encourage others in their professional development.

    Why wear a Rotary pin?

Reasons for wearing a pin var-ied: for publicity of Rotary, forpride, for acceptance and recog-nition, for the start of easy con-versation with other Rotarianswherever you go. Wearing aRotary Fellowship pin shows aRotarians vocation, hobby orrecreational interest.

Past RI President Bob Barth(1993-94, from the Rotary Clubof Aarau, Switzerland) felt thata Rotary pin says this about thewearer: You can rely on me, Iam dependable, I am reliable, Igive more than I take, and I amavailable.

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you

celebrate victory when nice things oc-cur. You take the front line when thereis danger. Then people will appreciate

    your leadership.

    Dear All,

I am excited to announce that our recently established Ro-taract Club will be finishing up its first project this week. Our donated clothes will go towards the migrant men andwomen in need. This Saturday we will hold our final col-lection day where we classify and tally up all the articles ofclothing. Depending on the size of our collection, we willchoose our destination camp with help from our guides atHelping Hands and personally deliver our donations with

a small convoy. The larger the size the more we canhelp. We hope it is a success and will share the results.

Please come and support us this Saturday atthe Platinum Tower, First Floor Meeting Room from 7-8pm. There will be signs and I have provided a map forthe directions below. If you have any spare used clothingthat you are thinking of getting rid of, please drop by andgive it to us as a donation. It can be anything from shirts, sweaters, trousers or shoes and for either gender.

For your donation, you will receive an official certificate ofappreciation from our Rotaract Club for your kind gener-osity. We wish you all a great Eid Mubarrak for the com-ing Eid Al-Adha and hope to make a lot of people happy.

The family doctor raised his gun to shoot, but then lowered his gun saying "Iam not sure that is a duck."
