REACH ASSEMBLY AND SPIRIT DAY By Anisha and Madhurie in 8C On November 28 th , RBPS had an amazing REACH Assembly celebrating the achievements of awesome Bon- dar students who strived to meet one of the REACH goals. But another exciting and wonderful thing happened that day too... Bobcats dressed up in beautiful seas of red, green, white and blue to show school spirit and sup- port for their houses! Here at Bondar, we have four houses; Earth, Air, Water and Fire. On November 28 th , stu- dent participation was incredible! The standing of all the houses was also revealed. Air was first (Mrs. Brick was extremely happy), Water came in second, and Fire was the second runner up. Earth came in last much to the dismay of Ms. Johnston. But the Earthlings weren’t too sad because the Reach Assembly was still pretty awesome. It kicked off with our school song, our Earth, Air, Water, Fire song and ended with a great send off from our Bobcat. So for the next time Bobcats, show your school spirit and support so that you may earn points to bring your house to first place! TORQ PERCUSSION By Supreet, Simran M. and Priya in 8C On January 9th, grades 4-8 had an opportunity to watch a percussion performance by the quartet group TorQ. Can you imagine playing instruments with recyclable objects? This is how they created their wonderful rhythms! Torq put a modern twist on classic music by not using your typical instruments e.g. cans for drums. Everyone enjoyed the part when they played the theme songs from the Mario video game with props. Torq was a very unique and interesting performance of "Everything but the Kitchen Sink" that inspired creativity beyond limits. ERIC WALTERS ENGAGES READERS By Aishvika in 7B We had an inspiring Kick-Off in Dec. for the Forest of Reading with the au- thor Eric Walters! He has written over 90 books and because of that he was awarded the Order of Canada. His presentation motivated the Bobcats to be eager to start reading.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT By Cheshta and Sehaj in 4C

On December 4, 2014, many families from Roberta Bondar PS went to “Family Fun Night.” They were enjoying their night playing badminton, tennis, ping pong

and board games. We went with our family and friends and had lots of fun together by playing the games and sports that were provided for us. Our second family night was on Thursday, Jan 22nd with Minute to Win It Fun! Details coming in next month’s newsletter!

ENTREPENEUR FAIR By Deepan in 8E

On December 5th 2014, the grade 8's held an Entrepreneur Show. Both staff and students were invited to visit the grade 8 classrooms and purchase something of their liking. The grade 8's had a great experience selling to potential customers within the school. The money that was raised by the classes was split in half and to go towards the grade 8 graduation and a charity of each class's choice. It was an amazing feeling not only for me but for all the grade 8's to make such a difference for the school. It was an amazing day overall for everybody who took part in the Entrepreneur Show of 2014.

BOBCAT VOLLEYBALL Bondar hosted two volleyball tournaments for senior boys and senior girls from several Peel schools. Our teams played with skill and sportsmanship against tough competition. Congratulations to the Senior Boys team for their second place finish! Special thanks to the coaches (Mr. Breitkreuz, Mr. McMurray, Ms. Gaulton, Ms. Slade, Ms. Wood, Ms. Rodic, and Mr. Green) and to Mr. Breitkreuz and Ms. Bulmer for organizing the tournaments! Way to go Bobcats!
