Kids will race from continent to continent uncovering clues and attempting
challenges as they fill their score cards.
They'll also discover that, no matter where we live, what shade of skin we have,
or what language we speak, we are all part of the same race—the human racethe human racethe human racethe human race—
and all part of the same family from Adam and Eve.
As they examine the events surrounding the tower of Babel, kids will learn that
God is calling people from every tribe and nation through his Son, Jesus Christ,
the Savior of the world. And that he wants us to share this good news in kindness
and love with our neighbors nearby and far away.
Join The Incredible Race and experience God's love for every tribe, language,
and nation! Volunteer & registration forms are available in the foyer

Who Will Go?
by Deborah Smith Plemmons
Who will go and preach God's Holy Word,
To the many souls who have never heard?
Who will go forth sowing and weeping?
For there will be souls for the reaping.
Who will go to the next door neighbor,
To tell them about Jesus Christ, their Savior?
Who will go to help those in need?
Whether poor or rich, who will plant the seed?
Who will go to the regions beyond you,
To share the Gospel, whether to many or few?
Who will go to a foreign field,
Where souls of the Harvest are ready to yield?
Who will go? God asks the question.
Here am I, send me. Go without hesitation.

Matthew 2 8 :1 8 -2 0
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
P salm 1 2 6 :5 -6
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weep-ing, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

As the leadership of Garden City Church of Christ continues to seek God’s direction for our church,
we continue to evaluate all of the processes that make up GCCC. These processes include, but are
not limited to our activities, programs, personnel, finances, leadership, and communications. God
has provided everything we need to accomplish his mission for us individually, as a local church
body and as the global church. He has also provided us His wisdom as received through His Word.
Proverbs 8:10-12 says,
10 Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her. 12 I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;
I possess knowledge and discretion.
The eldership at GCCC continues to seek God’s wisdom, prudence, knowledge and discretion. In so
doing, we will be making changes to the GCCC processes in order to become more mindful of our
mission, “Connecting to Christ, one another &, to service.”
In an effort to make the best use of our resources, the eldership has decided to discontinue the Link
Letter publication. Quite simply, its publication consumes considerable time from all of the staff, it
consumes money, and it is redundant. We will utilize the time and money for outreach and
community-minded projects that help us become a more service oriented body of believers.
Additionally, all pertinent information that is readily available in the Link Letter is currently available
on our website and in our weekly bulletins. We certainly understand that these alternate sources
may be inconvenient and different. We also understand and believe connection to a lost and dying
world is a valid reason to make the change. Please join us in supporting this change and in
suggesting more changes that you are committed to & willing to lead. Romans 12:2 says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then
you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Theme: Honor
Bible verseBible verseBible verseBible verse: : : : Colossians 3:20 (NIV) Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Let’s define what honor means.
Questions:Questions:Questions:Questions: Mom ask your kids, “What does honor mean?”
Say: A good definition of honor is to treat someone with respect and esteem. Here is a Biblical definition, to
“honor” someone means to treat them according to their true value.
Ask: How can we honor Dad as we approach Father’s Day?
Help your kids make a list of ideas of things they can do to honor their father. For example:
1. Go fishing with dad.
2. Ride bikes with dad.
3. Do a special chore for dad.
On Fathers DayOn Fathers DayOn Fathers DayOn Fathers Day: Gather the kids together and explain that one way to honor their dad is to pray daily for him.
Have each child pray for their dad.

FIGHT is for men ready to go to the next level in their faith, ready to step into the spiritual battle that threatens us all, and ready to join with a band of brothers to overcome the Enemy and claim the victory that Christ has already given us.
GO AHEAD. Stand up. Suit up for the ultimate fight. Get ready to march. And lay down an assault upon the Enemy that he will never forget!
A spiritual battle rages around you every day. Spiritual warfare is real—and so is the danger. Are you
ready to face the enemy? The call has been issued. The decision is yours. The time to fight is now!

What is the chief aim of the church? To seek and save the lost. Yes, our purpose is the same as what Jesus came to do. To ask it another way: what would you personally be willing to do...to change...in order that more people come to the knowledge of saving faith in Jesus? Our church wants to put forth its greatest efforts and resources to reaching lost people for God’s glory. As we make this our last edition of the Linkletter (please see the Letter from the Elders on page 3), I want us to embrace this change as an opportunity to use our resources for a broader reach into the Columbus community through various avenues that God puts before us. I close “my thoughts” with the prince of preachers, Charles Spurgeon’s, comments on Paul’s teaching in 1 Cor. 9:22— So that I may by every possible means save some.
“The passion for saving sinners is implanted into believers for at least three reasons. First, for God’s glory. To change sinful people so they pant after an increase of holiness, to render stubborn wills eager for the spread of obedience, and to make wandering hearts earnest for the establishment of the abiding kingdom of the Redeemer—these are mighty feats of the divine grace of God and bring all glory to Him. Second, the passion for saving souls is implanted in believers for the church’s good. There can be no doubt that the passion for winning souls expends the church’s energy in a healthy manner. Churches that do not care for outsiders quickly suffer from disunity and strife. What unites a church completely is the calling out of all its forces for accomplishing the Redeemer’s grand objective. This passion for saving souls not only employs, but also draws forth the strength of the church. It awakens the church’s latent energies and arouses its noblest abilities. Communion in service and success welds the saints together and is one of the best securities for mutual love. As a common desire to defend their country welds all the regiments of an army into one, so the common desire to save souls makes all true believers akin to one another. But, third, this passion is most of all for the good of the individual possessing it. Work for Jesus keeps us strong in faith and intense in love to Him. Soul-winning keeps the heart lively and preserves our warm youth in Christ. It is a mighty refresher to decaying love. Love for souls will, in the end, bring to all who have it the highest joy beneath the stars—the joy of knowing that they have been made the spiritual parents of others.”
May we shine like the stars in heaven! — Brian
