What’s up everyone? I am so excited that you were able to join us today for the second weekend of the… GIVING GAMES!

• Just to remind you what the Giving Games are all about, for two more weeks, we’re going to be challenged to be EXTRA THANKFUL through the Giving Games!

• Every CF Kids service will include fun games, activities, or serving opportunities to challenge us to be THANKFUL!

• You’ll receive a special card that will be stamped as you participate in the Giving Games. Get four or more stamps and you’ll receive a special prize!

o You can earn a stamp by 1) Attending a CF KIDS service… 2) Participating in the Family Mission by next weekend… 3) Participating in the Thanksgiving Boxes Packing Event that I’ll tell you more about in a little while.

• And today’s stamp is for the “Attitude of Gratitude!” • But before we dig in to anything today, let’s start off by talking to God

and thanking Him for this day!

Host Leads Kids in Prayer

Now, I have a feeling that some of you were not so eager to drag yourselves out of bed or away from your TV to come here today. In the spirit of getting all those neurons firing, let’s play a brain game!

Refocus_Game Here’s how it’ll go down: You’ll be split up into groups, and I’ll give each group a dry erase board and marker. Leaders, form 4-6 groups and distribute the materials. When we start the game, I’ll flash an unfocused, blurry picture up on the screen. Your job is to guess what the picture is supposed to be, but you’d better think fast, ‘cause you’ll have only fifteen seconds to write an answer on the board!

• After fifteen seconds, each group will hold up their board. I’ll keep track of how many correct answers you receive.

• The team with the most correct answers at the end of five rounds is the winner!

• Any questions? (Allow response) Great! I’ll give you one hint before we get the ball rolling: all images are somehow related to Thanksgiving!

• Let’s play!

Host leads game. As the images come up on screen and groups guess each image, the Host can improv humorous dialogue with off-the-wall guesses. Host builds suspense if the groups have similar scores. If necessary, make the last image worth more points to get a winner.

• Does anyone know why pictures come out blurry in the first place? (Wait for response)

• That’s right! That means the camera didn’t know what to focus on. • Sometimes that happens to us. When we look at what other people

have, or are only focused on the things we don’t have, we can lose focus of what’s really important.

• Then we start to get mad at the things we don’t have, and can even be jealous over what other people have.

• Then our view of all the things that we’re blessed with starts to become “blurry” and we become… Ungrateful!

• Which leads us into our Bible story today.

It’s a vineyard! Vineyards require a ton of hard work. So to get all the work done on the vineyard and collect all of the grapes from the harvest before they spoil, vineyard owners need some laborers to do the hard work.

• And that’s where we are in our story. Check it out!

• The mistake the vineyard workers made and the mistake all of us are guilty of is this: we try to be the judge of what we deserve and what we don’t deserve.

• We tend to become the judge of what other people deserve and don’t deserve.

• We think we know what’s fair. And instead of refocusing and looking at the all the AMAZING, good things that God has done for US, we tend to

look at what other people have. • Which brings is to our Bottom Line for today!

Say it with me…Adjust your attitude!

• Part of what Jesus is saying is we need to be grateful for what we’ve been given, whether it’s a gift, a position on a team, or money for a job.

• And no matter what we receive, we can always trust in God to provide us with EXACTLY what we need when we need it.

• And that’s what our second stamp is for today, having an attitude of gratitude!

• But in order to get the stamp, we have one more game to play.

Refocus_Game Time_Video Now, some of you did this in you small group last week, so you’ve had practice. You’re going to play in the same groups you played with in the first game.

• And I’ll need small group leaders in this game too. • Each group will get a large sheet of paper and a marker. • Leaders and kids, you will have 30 seconds to write down on your

paper ALL the things you are grateful for! • Whichever team has the most grateful things written down at the

end will be the winner! • Let’s play!

Refocus_Worship Great job! Even though we may have a winner, everyone is going to win a stamp today for having an attitude of gratitude! Speaking of gratitude, worship isn’t some boring part of the Way Station where we force you to sing. Worship is about a time between YOU and GOD! It’s a time where you can just sing praises to God for all the AMAZING things He’s done for you. So let’s continue having an attitude of gratitude through our worship!

Refocus_November Family Mission_Slide We can learn to love and give to others because God loves and gives to us!

• For the months of November and December, we are showing the love that God has shown us through our Family Mission, Love Gives!

• We are asking that you and your family purchase one of the gifts listed on one of the Christmas tags located on the Love Gives Christmas tree!

• Then, bring the UNwrapped gift to church and place it under our Love Gives Christmas tree.

• And guess what? If you participate in the Family Mission you will not only get a Family Mission pin, but you’ll ALSO receive ANOTHER stamp for your Giving Games card! Trust me, you’re not going to want to lose that card.

• If you have 4 or more stamps by next weekend, you’ll receive a special treat.

Now we’ve had so much fun today thanking God for all He’s given us. Some things that we may not have even thought of is how we have so many freedoms in this country.

• And we have all these freedoms because of the men and women who fight for our freedom.

• Since it’s Veteran’s day weekend, everyone is going to go home with a very special YELLOW ROCK.

• The yellow signifies supporting our troops. And the rock reminds us that Jesus is our rock and we can go to Him with anything.

• So whenever you see the rock, remember to pray for our men and women who are serving this country! Let’s end our time in prayer!
