LOG_PP_MIS: Enhancements in the Collective Displays of Material Requirements Planning (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 3 (SAP_APPL 603), Business Function Manufacturing Information System (LOG_PP_MIS), you can make use of enhanced selection and evaluation options in material requirements planning.

o The following new selection options have been provided on the initial screen of the Collective Display of the Stock/Requirements List:

- The field Material Type has been added to the Material Data tab page.

- The Provisional Ranges of Coverage tab page has been added to enable the targeted selection of materials with critical ranges of coverage (days' supplies). Selection by ranges of coverage was previously available in the Collective Display of MRP List only. For the selection of materials with critical ranges of coverage, SAP recommends that you first carry out a range-of-coverage evaluation using the report RMDDSUPPLY01. This report is also offered in the area menu for Material Requirements Planning under Evaluations --> Periodic Range-of-Coverage Evaluations.

- In addition, you can now show a new tab page with customer-specific selection options by implementing the BAdI MD_EXCLUDE_MATERIAL. If you activate the BAdI, the system shows the Additional Selections tab page. You can show any fields on this tab page. You can also use this additional tab page in the collecive displays for long-term planning. You achieve this by assigning the desired transactions (MD06, MD07,MS06, MS07) when implementing the BAdI.

o The following new selection options have been provided on the initial screen for the Collective Display of MRP Lists:

- The production line has been added as a new selection parameter. If you use Repetitive Manufacturing, you can now make a targeted selection of the MRP lists of the materials that are manufactured on this production line analogically to the planning table.

- On the Date tab page, you can select the MRP lists of the materials in the case of which current plant stock and certain additional receipts suffice at least until the specified date.

- The fields Material Status and Material Type have been added to the Material Data tab page.

- Analogically to the stock/requirements list, you can now show the Additional Selections tab page using the BAdI MD_EXCLUDE_MATERIAL.

o Improved statistical evaluations in the header details The following new tab pages are offered in the header details of the MRP and stock/requirements lists and in the planning result:

- Ranges of Coverage

- Stocks

- Period Statistics

- Statistics 2 Previously, the system could perform statistical evaluations for the entire year

only. On the new tab pages Stocks and Statistics 2, the option of entering an end date for the evaluation has now been provided, so that you can define the evaluation period on an individual basis. The system then calculates the requirement and receipt quantities up to this date and displays them in aggregated form.

- In Customizing for Material Requirements Planning, the new screen sequences N01 and N02 are offered in the IMG activity Define Screen Sequence Header Details. These screen sequences already contain the new screens. However, you can also user the two screen sequences as templates to define your own screen sequences.

- In the second step, you must assign one of the new screen sequences to the MRP type used in the IMG activity Check MRP Type in Customizing for Material Requirements Planning. In this way, all the materials that have this MRP type get the new tab page in the header details.

o New evaluation reports RMMD07NEW and RMMD07NEW You use the report RMMD07NEW as a copying template to define your own entry into the collective display of the current stock/requirements list. It makes a selection for a series of parameters in a performance-compatible manner. You can specify "from/to" values for each parameter (for example, enter MRP controller 001 to 007). In this case, the system makes a selection for all sevel MRP controllers. The Report RMMD07NEW is available with the same scope of functions for the collective display of the current stock/requirement list.

Effects on Customizing

The new screen sequences N01 and N02 are offered in the IMG activity Define Screen Sequence Header Details.

LOG_PP_MIS: Evaluation of Range-of-Coverage Data (New) Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 3 (SAP_APPL 603), Business Function Manufacturing Information System (LOG_PP_MIS), you can define material-specific limit values for the stock and receipt days' supplies in one profile. Previously, the limit values for the ranges of coverage (days' supplies) could only be defined on a user-specific basis. The limit values were then the same for all materials. Now it is possible to assign the desired limit values via the MRP controller to an entire group of materials using the evaluation profile. In this way, you can define different limit values for the group of fast-moving items as for materials with a low turnover.

Furthermore, the possibility of assigning material-specific limits for ranges of coverage to individual materials on a targeted basis has been provided in to enable you to thus determine critical materials. You can define material-specific limit values by activating the BAdI MD_SET_TRAFFIC_LIGHTS_DS.

The system then displays the status of the relevant range of coverage (days' supply) for each material in the header details of the stock/requirements list or MRP list in the form of traffic lights.

In addition, you can specify a default period or evaluations of the requirement and receipt statistics in the evaluation profile in the header details. In the header details, the statistics are then displayed in the short-term horizon with this period.

o Quantities subject to delay

o Current quantity

o Quantities of next two periods

The following new tab pages are offered in the header details of the MRP list and stock/requirements list and in the planning result, with which you can evaluate range-of-coverage data and the stock/receipt statistics:

o Ranges of coverage

o Stocks

o Period statistics

o Statistics 2

These new tab pages are not yet shown. To show a new tab page in the header details, you must proceed as follows:

o The new screen sequences N01 and N02 are offered in the IMG activity Define Screen Sequence Header Details in Customizing for Material Requirements Planning. These screen sequences already contain the new screens. However, you can also use these two screen sequences as templates to define your own screen sequences.

o You must now assign one of the two new screen sequences to the MRP type used in the IMG activity Check MRP Type in Customizing for Material Requirements Planning. In this way, all materials that have this MRP type get the new tab page in the header details.

For more information on the statistical evaluations, refer to the Release Note LOG_PP_MIS: Enhancements in the Collective Displays of Material Requirements Planning.

Effects on Customizing

Customizing for Material Requirements Planning has been enhanced by the addition of the IMG activity Define Evaluation Profile for Range-of-Coverage Data.

LOG_PP_MIS: Mass Extraction of Planning Data (New) Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 3 (SAP_APPL 603), Business Function Manufacturing Information System (LOG_PP_MIS), you can use the report RMDMRPEXTRACT01 to extract mass data from material requirements planning very quickly and transfer this data to database tables or customer-specific applications.

The report RMDMRPEXTRACT02 likewise extracts planning data. You use this report in long-term planning.

Effects on Customizing

o To be able to use the report, you must define an extraction mode in Customizing for material requirements planning.

o In addition, you must implement the BAdI MD_SR_LIST_EXTRACT to be able to perform a data extraction. With the BAdI, you specify the destination to which the extracted planning data is to be transferred.

LOG_PP_MIS: Enhancements in Order Report (New) Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 3 (SAP_APPL 603), Business Function Manufacturing Information System (LOG_PP_MIS), you can display the time delay to which the following MRP elements are subject on a multilevel basis in the order report:

o Sales order

o Project

o WSB element

o Production order

o Process order

o Network

o Planned order

The order report can now calculate and display the delay (for sales orders, for example) on a multilevel basis, in ascending order from bottom to top starting with the lowest MRP level. In the process, both the delay of the individual receipt element and the total delay resulting from the delays of the lower MRP levels are displayed. The delay is calculated in working days.

The multilevel delay at the level of a sales order is calculated as follows:

Total delay of sales order = Delay of receipt element at highest MRP level + cumulated delay of subordinate MRP levels.

The multilevel delay can only be calculated for MRP-relevant sales orders. In the process, the delay is calculated per sales order item.

The following new columns are offered in the order report to show the delay:

o Icon for seriousness of delay

o Own delay of a receipt element o Cumulative delay of lower levels

o Total delay

o Time unit of delay

The columns with the information on the single-level delay as previously calculated are no longer displayed in the order report because they have been superseded by the new columns with the values for the multilevel delay. The following columns no longer appear:

o Icon for delay (traffic light)

o Actual delay

o Unit of actual delay

o Expected delay

o Unit of delay

o Icon for quantity variance

o Quantity variance

o Unit of quantity variance

Effects on Customizing

The IMG activity Define Profiles for Order Report has been enhanced through the addition of settings for calculation and display of the multilevel delay in the order report:

o New fields:

- Multilevel delay: - Indicator for activation of calculation of multilevel delay

- Optimistic/pessimistic approach

- Delay at operation level: - Indicator for consideration of operations for calculation of delay

(performance switch)

- Threshold values for critical/noncritical delay

o Fields to be removed: Because the previous calculation of delay has been replaced by the multilevel delay, all the fields for the former are now no longer used. These fields have not been deleted but are hidden. You can unhide them if necessary through a modification and thus reactivate the previous method of calculating delay.

In the standard system, the following settings for multilevel delay are supplied in the standard profiles SAP000000001 and SAP000000002:

o The indicator for activation of the calculation of multilevel delay is set

o The optimistic calculation is selected.

o Threshold values Noncritical: 0 days, Critical: 1 day, Highly critical: 1 day As a result of this setting, all MRP elements without delay get a green icon @5B@. As soon as a delay occurs, this changes to red @5C@.

LOG_PP_MIS: Enhancements in Order Info System and Mass Processing (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 3 (SAP_APPL 603), Business Function Manufacturing Information System (LOG_PP_MIS), you can use the following new functions:

o Set up representation of detail lists in order info system (transactions COOIS and COOISPI) and in mass processing (transactions COHV and COHVPI):

- Change list types (transaction COISL) Here you can create new list types for each order category or make adjustments to existing ones. In the Displayable field, you can specify which list types are to be offered on the initial screen for the info system or mass processing. In the mass-processing area, you can define which mass-processing functions are to be offered for a certain list type.

- Change columns in output lists (transaction COISF) Here you can change the labels of the columns in the output lists of the order information system and in mass processing by adjusting the field labels accordingly. You can hide columns by setting the Hide Field indicator.

- Make fields ready to accept input (transaction COISF ) In addition, in transaction COISF you can specify that certain fields in the mass-processing function are ready to accept input. You achieve this by setting the Field Is Ready to Accept Input indicator for the desired field. For more information, refer to the documentation for COISF.

o New lists: The following new lists are offered:

- Production list In the info system, this list type contains information from the header data of the selected production orders and the associated material requirement planning information (such as range-of-coverage data, available quantities, etc.). This list type is offered for planned orders, production orders, and process orders. In mass processing, you can also use this list type for the confirmation.

- Material/production version This list type is used in mass processing only. With this list type, the production supervisor can put together a list of planned orders for a certain production version of a material. The system then calculates the total quantity of all planned orders for this material. You can invoke this list only for planned orders. You must therefore have set the Planned Orders indicator on the initial screen. You can also use this list type for the confirmation of planned orders in repetitive manufacturing. You can then restrict selection to the production version of a material and then carry out confirmation for this material.

o Enhancements in the confirmation in mass processing Previously, the confirmation of quantities in mass processing was always carried out with the planned values. In other words, the planned quantities were automatically adopted as actual quantities in the confirmation. As of this Release, the system is set up in such a way that you can specify and confirm

real actual quantities in the confirmation. This is possible for the following fields:

- Yield

- Scrap

- Rework

- Unit of measure

- Reason for variance

For these fields then to be ready to accept input in the confirmation, you must set the Switch Confirmation Fields to Changeable indicator on the Mass Processing tab page. If one of these fields is not ready to accept input, you can specify this in transaction COISF. New layouts are available for the confirmation:

- In the Order Headers list, you use the standard layout 000000000003 for the confirmation of production and process orders.

- In the Order Headers list, you use the standard layaout 000000000004 for the confirmation of planned orders in repetitive manufacturing.

- In the Operations list, you use the standard layout 000000000005 for the confirmation of operations from production and process orders.

- In the Production list, you use the standard layout 000000000003 for the confirmation of production and process orders.

- In the Production list, you use the standard layout 000000000003 for the confirmation of planned orders in repetitive manufacturing.

- In the Material/Production Version list, you use the standard layout 000000000001 for the confirmation of planned orders in repetitive manufacturing. The system displays the quantities only in the list - not the planned orders. When you confirm quantities, the system automatically reduces the quantities of the planned orders in the background.

o Enhancement of operation list by inclusion of predecessor/successor information The selection screen of the order info system has been enhanced for the list type Operations by the addition of the Determine Predecessor/Successor Operation indicator. If you set the indicator, the system reads the information on the direct predecessor and successor operations of the selected operations. For this evaluation, the new standard layout for predecessors/ successors 000000000004 is offered. This layout affords the advantage that all predecessor/successor information is shown in the output list. If you are using a different layout and want to display this information, you must change the layout of the specified operation list by adopting the following columns from the column set:

- Order number of predecessor/successor

- Operation number of predecessor/successor

- Operation text

- Order sequence

- System status

- Quantity specifications

- Work center with name of work center

- Dates/times In the case of the predecessor operation, the system displays the end date/times. In the case of the successor operation, the system displays the earliest and latest start dates/times.

If you want to see information on more than one predecessor and successor operation, you must program this yourself. The BAdI WORKORDER_INFOSYSTEM is available for this purpose.

o New selection criteria in information system The following new selection options have been added to the initial screen of the info system for planned orders:

- Sales order

- Sales order item

- Firmed planned orders only

- Selection of planned orders depending on result of availability check (fully confirmed, partially confirmed, not confirmed, not checked)

- Opening date

- Series number (BOM explosion number)

- Take Planning Time Fence Into Account The production version has been added as a further selection option for production and process orders.

o New mass-processing functions for planned orders The following mass-processing functions for planned orders are offered for the list type Order Headers:

- You can now use the confirmation in mass processing in repetitive manufacturing too, and thus confirm planned orders.

- You can firm planned orders or delete the firming.

- You can delete planned orders.

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function PI-Sheet (LOG_PP_PMA_PMC), you can print out the browser-based PI sheet in PDF format. This functionality is offered in addition to the already existing print option using cascading style sheets (CSSs) for the Internet Explorer.

In the worklist for PI sheets, the function PI Sheet -> Print (PDF) is available. You can also choose a PI sheet and then choose the Print (PDF) pushbutton in the Process Manufacturing Cockpit.

You then get the dialog box with the print specifications. In this box, you can either print directly or choose the Print Preview button to display the document in PDF format. You can print out the document directly from the print preview.

You can also define a plant-dependent PDF form. To do so, choose Production Planning Process Management -> Process Management -> Control Recipes/PI Sheets -> Define Plant-Dependent Print Form in Customizing. If you have specifed a plant-dependent print form, the printout may differ from that of the standard print form if the layout has been extended or changed.

Effects on Customizing

For an optimal output layout, you should activate the enhancement object POC_XML_EXT_FOR_PDF in Customizing under Production Planning Process Management -> Process Management -> Control Recipes/PI Sheets -> Activate Enhancements for PI Sheet.

LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: Discard PI Sheet in Process Order Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function PI-Sheet (LOG_PP_PMA_PMC), you can discard a browser-based PI sheet directly in the process order. This is only possible for PI sheets with the status New. It is not possible to terminate processed PI sheets in the process order.

The function Operation -> Functions for Control Recipe Destination -> Discard PI Sheet is available to you for this purpose in the operation overview of the process order.

If you have maintained an XStep tree for an operation, you can also discard PI sheets from the XStep monitor. To do so, choose XSteps -> Control Recipe -> Discard PI Sheet.

You can use this functionality for control recipe destinations of category 4 (browser-based PI sheet). Control recipe destinations of category 1 (ABAP-list-based PI sheet) are not supported.

For control recipe destinations of categories 2 and 3, you can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) WORKORDER_PISHEET in the enhancement spot ES_WORKORDER_PISHEET to implement the functionality.

LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: Mandatory Characteristics Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function PI-Sheet (LOG_PP_PMA_PMC), you can also flag a characteristic as mandatory independently of a process message.

Previously, you could only specify that entry for a process instruction characteristic is mandatory via the process messages. Independently of this, you can now also flag a process instruction characteristic as mandatory using the Entry Required indicator in the characteristic master.

If the indicator has been set, you cannot complete a workstep until a value has been assigned to the characteristic.

Effects on Customizing

For the change to be active, you must activate the enhancement object POC_MANDATORY_INPUT in Customizing under Production Planning for Process Industries -> Process Management -> Control Recipes/PI Sheets -> Activate Enhancements for PI Sheets.

LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: PARAMETER_CHANGED Event Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function PI-Sheet (LOG_PP_PMA_PMC), when using XSteps you can specify that a function module is only executed via the event PARAMETER_CHANGED if values have been assiged to certain parameters in the browser-based PI sheet.

Previously a function module was always executed via the event PARAMETER_CHANGED if values had been assigned to all mandatory parameters. As of this Release, you can specify which parameters must have values for a function module to be executed. These parameters must be assigned to a characteristic with the Entry Required indicator.

Note On no account should you change the characteristics once the master data has been set up. If you wish to use this functionality, you should therefore create a new characteristic with the indicator and use this new characteristic.

Effects on Customizing

You set the Entry Required indicator in characteristics management in Customizing under Production Planning for Process Industries -> Process Management -> Process Messages -> Process Message Characteristics -> Define Characteristics for Process Messages.

For the change to be active, you must activate the enhancement object POC_FUNCTION_CALL_PARAM in Customizing under Production Planning for Process Industries -> Process Management -> Control Recipes/PI Sheets -> Activate Enhancements for PI Sheets.

o LOG_PP_XS_RTG_PO: Enhancements to Implementation Guide

With the business function Browser-Based PI Sheet (LOG_PP_PMA_PMC), enhancements in the area of the browser-based PI sheet are supplied. The browser-based PI sheet corresponds to work instructions in the shop floor control environment.

If you activate the business function LOG_PP_PMA_PMC, you can use the following enhancements for work instructions in shop floor control:

o LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: Discard PI Sheet in Process Order

o LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: PARAMETER_CHANGED Event o LOG_PP_PMA_PMC: Mandatory Characteristics

LOG_PP_XS_RTG_PO: XSteps in Routings and Production Orders Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function XSteps for Routing and PO (LOG_PP_XS_RTG_PO), you can use execution steps (XSteps) for routings and production orders.

You can use XSteps to describe the concrete execution of production. Execution steps and standard execution steps have hitherto been used in process industries and can now also be used in routings and production orders.

It has been necessary to adjust certain central terms for discrete manufacturing:

o For the PI sheet, the term work instructions is used.

o For the control recipe, the term control instructions is used.

In production plants of discrete industries (part manufacturing and assembly industries), it is very often necessary to realize a timely, close-knit exchange of manufacturing-relevant data in between an ERP system and the independent level of the manufacturing process (machines, individuals, production control station, machine control computer etc.).

For a production order to be executed at this level and controlled, settled and also changed in the ERP system, the planning level in the ERP system must pass on data such as product data, input materials, manufacturing and setup time specifications, setting parameters, recipe data and target quantities to the manufacturing level, and the latter must report back to the ERP system as promptly as possible the quantities actually manufactured, the actual manufacturing times, scrap quantities, and any other data that may be required.

The use of execution steps (XSteps) supports the individuals involved at manufacturing level in the following ways:

o Transfer of any freely selectable parameters to any recipients at the manufacturing level (see above).

o Generation of variable, browser-based work instructions for the direct guidance of the machine operator.

o Use of variable process messages for direct execution or derivation of confirmations from the work instructions or from process control computers

o Sending of these process messages to predefined message recipients (destinations) including the direct, automatic updating of the confirmation data (actual time, material consumption, warehouse receipt, status progress, etc.) in a production order

o Over and above the above-mentioned possibilities, production-accompanying quality checks/inspections, the creation of a batch, or the determination of the batch or product characteristics can be carried out during production and goods movements posted in inventory management.

With the scope of functions provided by the Execution Steps, the user of production orders is offered an option for coupling the ERP system with the manufacturing level that is far superior to the previously known and widely used interface PP-PDC (KK2).

Execution steps can be set up and changed in a standard XStep repository. You can use the standard execution steps from the standard XSteps repository multiple times and maintain them centrally.

An XStep editor in which you can enter XSteps directly is available to you in the routing and the production order.

Effects on Customizing

You make the settings for XSteps in Customizing under Production -> Basic Data -> Execution Steps.

You make settings for process integration in Customizing under Production -> Shop Floor Control -> Integration -> Process Integration.

LOG_PP_XS_RTG_PO: Changes to Menu Use

In SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-SCM 603) Business Function XSteps in Routing and Production Order , the following changes have been made to the SAP menu within the framework of the integration of the execution steps (XSteps) in shop floor control:

o The menu option Process Integration has been included in the Shop Floor Control menu. This includes the settings for control instructions, work instructions, process messages, and the PP/PDC interface.

o Under Production -> Basic Data, you find the possible settings for the execution steps (XSteps).

o Under Production -> Production Control -> Integration, you find the possible settings for process integration, which include settings for control instructions, work instructions, and the PP/PDC interface.

The system does not change the existing data. You can save the data that was selected for modeling as a modeling run and load it again later on.

PMD_PLM_RECIPE_MANAGEMENT_1: Derived Nutrients and Energy Values (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension PLM, Enhancement Package 3, (EA-PLM 700), Business Function PLM: Recipe Management (PMD_PLM_RECIPE_MANAGEMENT_1), the following new functions for nutrients are available:

o You can now define derived nutrients. These are nutrients which are calculated from other nutrients (for example, the ratio of calcium to phosphorous). Technically, they are specifications of the specification type NUTRIENT that you mark as derived nutrients in the relevant property tree. You define the formulas used by the system to determine values for derived nutrients, in the new Business Add-In (BAdI) FRML_CALC_DERIVED_NUTRIENT.

o So far, it was possible to calculate energy values in the Recipe Workbench but not to save them in the primary output. Now, if you want to save energy values in the primary output, create nutrients for the required values, for example, kilocalories (kcal) or kilojoules (kJ) as derived nutrients, and assign these nutrient values to the environment parameters FRML_ENERGY_SUBID_KCAL and FRML_ENERGY_SUBID_KJ.

PMD_PLM_RECIPE_MANAGEMENT_1: Search Functions in Recipe Management (Enhanced)

Use
