The city of Renton offers a plethora of serene treasures. Their ideal location, along Lake Washington and backed to the east by Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park and Squak Mountain State Park Natural Area, allows the city limitless hiking, boating, sailing, fishing, and grassy spaces for outdoorsy activities.
The city also offers age-specific activities, including their Day Camps, Creative Kids Preschool, Teen Scene, and Senior Activity Center. For more info visit: rentonwa.gov.
Many great stores have popped up around Renton—including local grocery, Uwajimaya; local pet supply shop, Sierra Fish & Pets; and an abundance of local eateries, including the Melrose Grill, Berliner Pub, Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes, New Zen, and the Whistle Stop.
The city’s diversity shows in their selection of restaurants including Indian, American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai foods.
The Renton Farmer’s market runs June through September on Tuesday from 3pm to 7pm. Centrally located in downtown Renton at Piazza Park, dozens of bus lines offers easy commuting opportunities for patrons.

The Renton Highlands neighborhood is located in North Renton, just east of Kennydale and west of the Plateau. It lies north of the Cedar River Valley.
It is generally east of Interstate 405 and north on Highway 169.

Three major freeways, including Interstate 5, Interstate 405, and State Route 167, make Renton an easily traveled to and from location.
Both King County Metro and South Transit run multiple lines through Renton, from both their Downtown Transit Center and South Renton Park & Ride.
The Renton Municipal Airport, located just north of downtown, offers flight opportunities, including classes and storage. Additionally, Renton is less than fifteen minutes away from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and plans are being drawn to reinstate the Renton water taxi, giving residents another means of travel from Renton around Lake Washington.
Boeing and Amazon have both made offices in the city. Overall, the area is “quite literally at the center of an extensive regional and international transportation network.”
