Happy Easter! Christ has opened for us the way to a new life! The Resurrection of Christ is the principle of our own resurrection, now by the justification of our souls and one day by the new life he will impart to our bodies (CCC, 658). “We firmly believe, and hence we hope that, just as Christ is truly risen from the dead and lives forever, so after death the righteous will live forever with the risen Christ and he will raise them up on the last day” (CCC, 989). Dear Parishioners,
I would be remiss not to thank publicly all those who helped us arrive at the glory of Easter here at Holy Infant!
First, thanks be to God for the faith that he has entrusted to us and for his crucified and risen Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ; what a gift this faith has been to us and continues to be. We are so grateful our two associate pastors – Fr. Vordtriede and Fr. Foy - give of themselves so generously to our parish, especially in the celebration of our liturgies. Our thanks to Deacon Dan Henke who throughout the Lenten and Holy Week celebrations assisted us at the altar. So many ministers served the parish as well: Communion ministers, lectors, servers, ushers, greeters. And a special thanks to everyone on our liturgy teams who, once again, pulled together a prayerful program for all of Holy Week and Easter. We are blessed beyond measure with our choirs, cantors and musicians who gave of their time not only at the liturgy itself but in some long hours of practice.
Thanks to our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) team, namely: Laura Marlo, Fr. Vordtriede, Deacon Ken Clemens, Patricia Foley, Tessie La'O, Mark Nealon, Christina Snyder, Joyce Wiltrakis, and Jim Snyder who prepared those received into the Church at the Easter Vigil.
We are delighted to welcome those who were baptized at this year’s Easter Vigil: Chris Meador, Mike Silverio and Lindsay Carr. Congratulations to our newly confirmed, including: Gina Reinkemeyer, Jesse Suess, Regina Wright, Skylar Zagleski and David Maurer. We also congratulate those who received the Eucharist for the first time and were also confirmed: Tiffany Calzone, Kirk Donald, Corenna Johnson, John "Travis" Lavin, Rachel Sestrich and Shawn Williams.
My personal thanks to the Holy Infant office staff who during every high season go the extra mile to make sure every person is cared for and every detail attended to. Thanks to that devoted, hard working group of volunteers who cleaned and prepared the church for the weekend. I think everyone would agree that the church decorations were particularly beautiful this year. Thanks to those who did all that work. A special word of thanks to our many volunteers who, in a few short days before the Triduum, transformed our church into something we could be proud of.
And thanks to all of Holy Infant parishioners. I hear so often from visitors to the church how warmly welcomed they feel at our parish.
Finally, thanks to Pope Francis who in his simplicity and straightforwardness has helped us all to emphasize more ardently the joy of the Easter gospel.
A blessed Easter to you and your family!
Alleluia! He is Risen!
This is the night, when Christ broke the prison bars of death and rose victorious from the underworld.
Our birth would have been no gain, had we not been redeemed.
O wonder of your humble care for us! O love, O charity beyond all telling,
to ransom a slave you gave away your Son! O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely
by the Death of Christ! O happy fault that earned so great,
so glorious a Redeemer. O truly blessed night worthy alone to know the time
and hour when Christ rose from the underworld!
From the Easter Proclamation at the Easter Vigil

GUIDE BOOK AND DIRECTORY ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY
We are in the process of updating Holy Infant’s annual Guide Book and Directory. This book will be the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How of our parish. The book is being provided at no cost to our parish, including the mailing to each family, and again is being subsidized by local businesses that advertise in it. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please call the parish office, (636) 227-7440, during office hours. Survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book and Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. “It will pay you” to advertise in our next Guide Book and Directory.
UPDATE MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Does our parish database have your family membership record correct? Here is your chance to update your record for Holy Infant’s annual Guide Book and Directory (if you haven’t already done so). It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in your family over the past year.
Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you NOT want your record published?
If you have not already informed the parish office about changes to your record, please let us know now, so that the information in the next Guide Book and Directory will be correct. Please call the parish office, (636) 227-7440.

SOLEMNITY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD MARCH 27, 2016
THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. Alleluia! Easter is always, but especially in this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the victory of God's gentle but invincible mercy raising up Jesus, "faithful witness, the first-born of the dead" (Revelation 1:5), "first-born among many brothers [and sisters]" (Romans 8:29), conquering death in all its forms, in all of us in the human family.
In Luke's Vigil Gospel, heavenly messengers send the women forth: "Remember what [Jesus] said to you" (Luke 24:6). In John's Gospel, the empty tomb likewise "sends forth" Mary Magdalene, Peter, and the Beloved Disciple, who believe though they do not fully understand. Finally, Luke's evening "Emmaus" Gospel sends us forth, as "missionaries of mercy," assuring us that we will encounter the Risen Lord, today and every day, in "the stranger" we meet along life's journey, in "the Word that makes our hearts burn within us," and "in the breaking of the bread” (see Luke 24:32, 35).

SOLEMNITY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD MARCH 27, 2016
Dear Faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, I offer to you my deepest greetings of joy and peace on the Solemnity of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ—Happy Easter! Easter is to the Church year what Sunday is to each week—highlight of rest and rejoicing. Its vivid symbols of fire, water and exultant song reminds us that Christ has overcome sin and death. Because of that we know, in the words of Pope Francis, that when everything is said and done, we are infinitely loved by God. Let us pray that the light of Christ will shine in our hearts this Easter and reach out to others through us. We know that our Savior lives. Let us share with others the joy of knowing that they are loved by God! I ask that you keep in mind that the collection for Regina Cleri, the residence for our retired priests, is today. You know how generously the retired priests served you and how you counted on them. Now, in turn, they count on you and are grateful for your generous support and prayers. I pray these are days of blessing for you and your loved ones. Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson Archbishop of St. Louis
SOLEMNITY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD MARCH 27, 2016
THE MIRACLE OF DIVINE MERCY The message of Divine Mercy is that God is merciful. He is Love itself poured out for us and He wants no one to escape his merciful love. The promise of Jesus to Saint Faustina is that His Merciful Heart grants complete pardon to souls (plenary indulgence) that will go to Reconciliation and receive the Eucharist during Easter.
The Significance of Divine Mercy Sunday Our Lord’s promise to grant complete forgiveness of sins and punishment on the Feast of Mercy is recorded three times in the Diary of Blessed Faustina:
• “I want to grant complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession and receive the Eucharist on the Feast of Mercy” (1109).
• “Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment” (300).
• “The souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion will obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment” (699).
Our Lord is emphasizing, through this promise, the infinite value of Confession and Communion as miracles of mercy. He wants us to realize that, since the Eucharist is His own Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, it is the Fountain of Life (300). “How painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves to Me in Holy Communion. I wait for souls and they are indifferent toward Me. I want to lavish My graces on them and they do not want to accept them. They treat Me as a dead object, whereas My Heart is full of love and mercy” (1447).
So the Feast of Mercy is both a reminder and a call. It is a reminder that He is truly present and alive in the Eucharist, filled with love for us and waiting for us to turn to Him with trust. It is a call for us to be washed clean in His love through Confession and Communion. God promises unlimited grace.
How to observe the Feast of Mercy: 1) celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter; 2) sincerely repent of all our sins; 3) go to confession before Divine Mercy Sunday; 4) receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast; 5) venerate the image of the Divine Mercy; 6) be merciful to others through our actions, words and prayer on their behalf.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is among the Catholic Church’s most popular prayers and is meant to be said every day at 3:00 p.m. The chaplet uses a five decade rosary and asks for Mercy with a short prayer on each bead.

Join Host Zip Rzeppa as he interviews these Holy Infant parishioners to help us all embody
The Year of Mercy as the “revolution of tenderness” described by Pope Francis:
♦ Kate and Michelle Treese share their story of coping with
profound grief and finding God again after the loss of their beloved husband and father
♦ Deanna McClintock Lester, author of Love Bends: A Forest of Family Trees, shares the complexities and blessings that are unique to blended/stepfamilies
Don’t miss this opportunity to keep growing in
faith, mercy and charity! All are welcome!
SOLEMNITY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD MARCH 27, 2016
In the 1930’s Jesus appeared to a young Polish nun, to ask her to tell the whole world about His Divine Mercy—His love and forgiveness that waits to welcome every humble sinner into His arms. Pope John Paul II canonized that holy little nun, St. Faustine Kowalska and made the Sunday after Easter the Feast of Divine Mercy.
JESUS’ LOVING DIVINE MERCY Holy Infant Parish will unite in prayer during this Year of Mercy in a special way on Divine Mercy Sunday. Pope Francis invites us to join with Catholics all over the world to pray for God’s Mercy upon us and for that Mercy to flow through us out to everyone in our world. Bring the whole family and reflect on how Jesus longs for each of us to say with our whole hearts: “Jesus, I trust in You.”
Divine Mercy Children’s Program: Call Teresita La’O at 314.520.7088 to reserve your child a spot. From 1:15 to 2:45 we will have babysi ng for infants and children up to age 3. For children ages 4-9, we offer the “Jesus I trust in You” children’s ac vity in which the children will learn how to give their fears to Jesus and trust in His love, from a ny Easter Bunny and some actor ‘apostles’! Reserva ons needed for both. No drop-ins. (Bring children to the Nursery and rooms in the 5th grade hallway.)
