    A few friendly remindersPlease put cell phone ringers on mute. Texting is permitted, butcell phone conversations are discouraged in the library.

    Dont bring food or drink into the library. Spills damage computerequipment, books, and furnishings.

    Dont leave computers, cell phones, purses, wallets, or text-books laying around. Thieves look for easy-to-steal items.

    Always keep your student I.D. card with you. It is your passportto campus services and technology.

    Reference and homework helpReference librarians are available to help you find resources forhomework assignments and research papers.

    The librarians teach Information Literacy classes to help you be-come a better researcher and student. Schedules are online andat the reference desk.

    The library publishes interactive research and reference guidesat http://libguides.richlandcollege.edu. These online guides pointstudents toward resources and help them with search strategy.

    Students may make appointments with reference librarians forhelp with specific topics or help with navigating the library.

    Checking out booksWe have more than 90,000 books in the circulatingcollection, which is on the basement level. CurrentDCCCD students, faculty, and staff with photo I.D.may check out up to 10 books for three weeks.

    Visit http://www.richlandcollege.edu/libraryto searchand browse books from Richland and all libraries in the district.Current students, faculty, and staff may request circulating booksonline and have them delivered to their preferred DCCCD library.

    Community member or a student elsewhere? Ask how to get aTexShare card from your home library.

    You are responsible for library items checked under your I.D.number; damaged or unreturned items will result in your collegerecord being blocked.

    Computer useComputers are available in the libraryand should be used for research- and class-related assignments. Dont forget to bring amemory storage device.

    Computer labs are in Del Rio 257 and Bonham 218.

    Students doing homework are priority users. During high-traffictimes, people not doing college-related work will be asked to logoff computers.

    Printing and copying in the libraryAnyone who wants to print from library computers or makephoto copies will have to set up an online pay-for-print ac-count. A one-dollar bill is needed to start an account, and thepay-for-print kiosk is in room L122 across from the reserves/periodical desk. Ask there for help.

    Note: The library doesnt make change.

    Additional library servicesOnline databases: Digital material is a large part of our librarycollection. Visit http://www.dcccd.edu/databasesto see our data-bases containing journals, magazines, and newspapers.

    Textbooks: The library generally doesnt purchase course texts;however, sometimes professors will place material on reserve.

    These items may be used for up to two hours inside the library.

    Interlibrary loan: The library will make loan requests from otherlibraries. Our interlibrary loan form is online; lead time on theseloans is three to four weeks.

    Study rooms: Two or more students may use a study room forup to three hours. Ask at the circulation desk.
