A: Yes - financial aid would not usually consider your country of origin in relation to your country of

A: No, at Cottey College it does not affect your financial aid

A: No, our courses are designed to be the first two years of a four year program.

A: At Cottey it does not.

A: At Cottey it does not have to be repaid, but if you have a loan that needs to be repaid.

Q: How long does it normally take to get approved for admission and for a scholarship?

A: It varies at each school, at Cottey we have a rolling admission but we prefer to have your admissions

and financial aid information to us as soon as possible.

Q: approximately, what is the average number of colleges that can offer full academic or athletic

scholarships??

A: according to our survey, about 180 US colleges and universities offered full funding (over 90% of total

costs) to international students.

Q: Does the Cottey College recognize IB? If it does can it be helpful in any way?

A: Yes we do, and yes it is helpful!

A: The main criteria at Cottey is need based and merit based.

A: There are colleges and universities that offer varying amounts. Research your field of study and

A: Hi Ivana. It will usually depend more on your high school GPA rather than if it was a high school in

Q: I also want to know if TOELF scores is one of condition to receive financial aid at cottey college

A: At Cottey College you need to be accepted and we need a standardized test score. We accept the

TOEFL and IELTS if you are not from an English speaking country.

A: Hi Ali, this can depend on many factors and it depends on the scholarship program. Your test scores,

GPA, leadership potential, financial need, and so on. When you are researching financial aid, first find

out what the criteria is before applying.

A: Usually in the USA, you will receive four years of aid as long as you make satisfactory progress toward

your degree.

A: Yes, that will often help your case. Try to do as much community service in high school as you can

A: At Cottey College it has been a rare occurrence that this has happened but we try our best to meet as

much need as possible.

A: At Cottey we look at how many credits a student has from another institution and determine their

A: In the USA, you have to be an amateur to be eligible for athletic scholarships.

A: We are located in Nevada, Missouri, about 100 miles south of Kansas City.

A: At Cottey you do not get an advantage on financial aid all funds are distributed equally according to

need and merit.

Q: Do you still have to take TOEFEL or IELTS if you graduated from IB?

A: At Cottey we would still need a standardized test score for admission.

Q: i have a twin, and we are both applying to U.S colleges, what are the percentage that both of us will

get accepted?

A: It will depend more on both of your qualifications and what the criteria is to be eligible.....

Q: please can i find public relations and advertising in your college

A: You can start your degree at Cottey the first two years than transfer to another school to pursue your

bachelor’s degree.

considered with financial aid in cottey college or others university in USA?

A: Yes, that would be considered a potential for leadership and may be a factor in determining financial

aid at many colleges and universities in the US

Q: If I have completed 1.5 years in a university in KSA, am I still likely to get financial aid (merit-based) at

Cottey College (or other US universities) being a transfer student?

A: At a four year institution you would be eligible for id but at a two year it would be very hard to do.

Q: can we apply by our IGCSE and A Level grades? What are the usually requested SAT and IELTS scores?

A: At Cottey we accept a 5.5 score on the IELTS, please check admission requirements at all the schools

you are interested in because each school has different standards.

Q: Is there a minimum wage for parents to contribute to the tuition?

A: No but be sure to completely fill out the financial aid forms and you will be offered as much as

possible. Please do this soon as some schools like Cottey have a set amount of aid to distribute

Q: Can i send My S.A.T scores to a college and tell them that I’m going to take it again and send the

scores after that, after passing the deadline?

A: Yes, you may take the SAT as many times as you like. Most US schools will take your highest score.

Q: Who can guarantee that the college I apply to after finishing first two years at Cottey College will

accept me?

A: Hi Ivana. There would be no guarantee that a 4 year college will accept you after completing 2 years

at a community college. It will largely depend on your GPA at the 2 year college and how well you

preformed as a student. You may also want to check which articulation agreements the college has with

4 year universities.

Q: Do you have dormitories?

A: Yes, we have dormitories at Cottey. All students live in spacious suites with housekeeping!

Q: Is it possible to pass TOEFEL in cottey English center?

A: At Cottey we require that you have taken the TOEFL before you can be accepted.

Q: i want to pursue my study in advertising and public relations, does this field is available in your

college?

A: You may take your first two years of study at Cottey in these areas and transfer to a four year

program

Q: I've been through the Cottey College website and I didn't find anything related to engineering. Cottey

College does not offer any engineering programs?

A: No Cottey does not offer engineering. Sorry! But there are many great schools that do.

Q: What colleges do you recommend that have great chemistry departments ? / what the colleges that

are famous for their chemistry department ??

A: Hi Mahmoud: that’s hard to say as there are so many great US colleges and universities offering

chemistry. I suggest you try using our college search engines listed under the students section at

www.educationusa.state.gov. You can tailor your search according to schools which offer chemistry as a

major, and then look into each one to see if it is right for you.

Q: and if i already spent three years in communication study, in cameroon when you have passed three

years in communication study, you graduate, you receive a diploma which permit you to pursue your

study in graduate schedule. Can i pursue my study directly in public relation if i apply in cottey college?

A: I am not in university now. I need exchange programs for non-graduated students. I am in primary

school now.

Q: What about TOEEFL which scores Cotte accept?

A: Cottey accepts a TOEFL score of 500.

Q: Can your country have any kind of influence while applying for aid?

A: It is possible but depends on the financial aid program you are looking at. Take a look at

country.

A: That amount can vary from each college and university and depends on each individual situation.

Q: it's possible to take TOEFL at ELS center and after ask financial aid in cottey college?

A: At Cottey, you would have to take the TOEFL to be accepted and then you would be eligible for

financial aid.

Q: If you are accepted according to your predicted mark, can the decision be changed if the actual mark

turns out to be lower or vice versa?

A: If we receive information that your scores are lower or higher than reported originally, we will adjust

your merit aid accordingly
