（Rod Ellis）氏による講演会を開催します。同氏は第二言語

習得研究の第一人者です。第二言語習得とタスク活動による

英語教授法についてお話いただく予定です。

Description of Lecture(s):

Lecture 1 (1:00-2:30 pm): Second Language Acquisition (SLA)

Dr. Ellis will provide an overview of the basic research in the field of SLA. In particular, Dr. Ellis will delve into the all-important question of how learners best acquire foreign languages.(Lecture time is 60 minutes followed by 20-30 minutes of Q and A).

Lecture 2 (2:45-4:15 pm): Teaching Approaches for the Japanese EFL Context

Referring to the theoretical approaches presented in Lecture 1, Dr. Ellis will now explore how research can inform practice. In particular, Dr. Ellis will cater his discussion on how we could best approach teaching in the Japanese university EFL context.(Lecture time is 60 minutes followed by 20-30 minutes of Q and A).
