CAROLING TODAY (Sunday, Dec 9) at the Fair Meadow Nursing Home at 10:00 a.m. Come and join us as we share the joy and wonder of this holy season with our brothers and sisters at the nursing home!. Thank you very much for the very generous donations to the local food shelf, both food items and the monetary donations. It is because of your support we are able to keep our shelves full and our doors open. God bless you and your desire to help others. ~ F-B Food Shelf Coordinators Answers to last week’s puzzles: HOUSE, RAISE, JUST, FACE. Answer: “The Lord OUR JUSTICE.” There will be no 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, December 9th at St. Lawrence. Next weekend, December 15th, St. Joseph will have their Christmas program and a potluck supper. We will begin with Mass at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Christmas program and a potluck supper. There will be no 8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, December 16th at St. Joseph’s. Advent Day of Renewal! On Sunday, December 16th, we will welcome Brendan Case to St. Joseph’s for an Advent Day of Renewal called Welcoming the Word. The day will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a workshop, followed by a potluck supper and a healing service. Please see attached flier with further information and take advantage of this opportunity to prepare your heart for the celebration of Christmas. Day of Grace Advent is a time of preparation and reconciliation. The proper way to prepare to celebrate Christmas is by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We will have a Day of Grace at St. Lawrence on Wednesday, December 12th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and at St. Joseph’s on Wednesday, December 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Both days we will also have Adoration. It’s not too late to join in on the Pilgrimage to Medjugorje: Fr. Joe will be leading a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in March of 2019. Come and join him on this spiritual trip to Medjugorje. For more information see the flier on the table in the gathering space or talk to Fr. Joe. Advent Project In the past few years during the season of Advent, our parish has collected and donated items for the Crookston Care and Share. This year, they are in need of towels. Therefore, during this year’s Advent season, we will be collecting towels (primarily bath size). You may bring the towels at any time to the church, and we will see that they get delivered to the Care and Share before Christmas. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Mark your calendar! On Wednesday, January 16th, we will have a Christmas gathering for all adult parishioners of St. Joseph’s at Erickson Smokehouse. We will have a sign-up sheet available after Masses the first couple of weeks in January so that we can give Mark Erickson an idea of how many will be attending. Come and join us for this Dutch Treat Christmas Celebration. 1st Reconciliation will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 10:00 a.m., Arthur Rongen, John Douglas Rongen and Easton Kieckbusch; at St. Lawrence. Please hold our young people from both parishes in prayer as they celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.
