SCHEDULE CHANGES AND HIGHLIGHTS 2016

In February and March 2016, the SABC TV Network - SABC1, SABC2, SABC3 channels will be introducing an exciting revamped schedule complete with brand new thrilling shows, programme new seasons, slot changes and a list of spanking new personalities to provide our viewers with an enhanced television viewing experience. This schedule refurbish is a direct response to the evolving and ever changing television landscape and is in keeping up with SABC’s audience’ current needs and expectations.

SABC 1An exciting offering to premier in the Thurs 20h30 slot; Mfolozi Street Season 2. The local multi-protagonist series comprises a stand a alone stories united by the street on which they take place.The channel has made a bold decision for the Friday Entertainment Primetime slot by acquiring a new 48 minute music entertainment show, Urban Music Xperience, to be scheduled at 21h00, followed by Skyroom Live at 22h00. A revamped series of Live Amp will now be offered to our viewers on Friday at 19h30.

The weekend schedule will see changes in both daytime and primetime.Generations the Legacy Omnibus, will now start at 11h00. Sunday 09h00 will be Gospel Gold, followed by Mzansi Insider at 10h00.At 12h30 on Sunday SABC1 introduces an uZalo Omnibus. A 48 minute drama slot has been created on Sundays at 20h00. Titles acquired for this slot are Ngempela and Sokhulu & Partners.

SABC2The channel’s Sotho/Tswana/Sepedi news will move from 19:30 to 18:00. The drama series Mooiloop returns on Mondays at 19:30.SABC2 introduces for the first time a sitcom Parys Parys at 19:30 on Tuesdays, starting 2 February 2016. Sketched in the picturesque background of the Free State jewel “Parys”, an ordinary Afrikaans family shares their daily trials and challenges with the viewers. Parys Parys is a 13 part sitcom.Also on Tuesdays the channel will repeat season 1 of the much loved Afrikaans drama series Geraamtes In Die Kas. Geraamtes In Die Kas is set in the world of four psychiatrists and psychologists as they balance their chaotic lives with patients, families and careers, while maintaining their own sanity.

SABC 3SABC 3 is positioned as a lifestyle/variety channel and content such as “First Class all the way” fits into the variety female skewed offering for weekdays. On a Tuesday nights at 20:00 we kick this off the evening with “Top Chef.” On Wednesday nights at 21:00 the channel welcomes a brand new foreign drama to the schedule “Humans” is a first to broadcast title in South Africa and will fall in the foreign drama male skewed slot on a Wednesday night.

In Esquire’s Car of the Year, a panel of automotive experts, comedian and car consigliore, Spike Feresten (‘Car Matchmaker’), Esquire Magazine’s automotive journalist, Sam Smith, Matt Farah of ‘The Smoking Tire’, and NASCAR racing legend Brian Vickers come together in Detroit, Michigan - Motor City USA.
