Fuse is available with a new body balance mechanism that facilitates automatic tensioning of the tilt function that is determined by the weight of the individual user. This functionality and user comfort is then further enhanced by the addition of a rotary control for a 4 stage travel limiter as opposed to a multi-position back lock or no lock at all. This enables the user to determine the maximum level of recline they wish to have, the preset positions for this being an upright lock, 5° of travel, 12° of travel or 22° of travel. Clearly we would advocate not having the chair locked and anticipate that most users will find the two initial recline positions to be the most productive, comfortable and the maintenance of the free floating action should help promote good back health.

The geometry of the chair has been designed to support effectively the natural pivot of the body whilst head maintaining alignment to computer screens.

Controls of the mechanism are intuitively shaped and each function control can be easily reached and operated from the seated position, and carries graphics to guide the user as to its function. An illustrated user guide is permanently housed under the seat.

Beautifully finished and with stunning good looks, Enigma conveys high quality, well being and excellent functionality in every detail. The design features a high lift style 5-star base in either a glass filled injection moulded black plastic, or die cast Aluminium and two upholstery styles; standard or slimline. With three years of development and considerable investment behind it, Enigma readily responds with ease to a multitude of functional applications and status needs. These include options for an adjustable headrest, lumbar support and soft wheeled castors. It is not just another work chair, but is a milestone for the company in high performance seating design, offering multiple choices to the user that help to promote best practice for a healthy body and superb comfort in a variety of positions. A full range of ergonomic adjustments are provided in this design in accordance with the European Norm. These include an optional negative seat tilt facility of 3 degrees, as needed; a depth adjustable seat with 60mm (2.5”) of adjustment as standard; height adjustable backrest (100mm/4”); easy access mechanism tension adjustment from the seated position; and integrated operating instructions to explain all functions. The fixed height arm is width adjustable under the seat while the Multi Function arm provides height, width, depth and rotational adjustment.

Finishes The injection moulded plastic chair parts are all available in black as standard. The optional cast aluminium 5-star chair base can be polished or painted. Black castors are used as standard with optional soft wheel castors available. Arm pads and the MF arms are also black as standard. The fixed height arm stem is polished aluminium. Upholstery is available in the usual broad range of fabrics and leather.
