The Sammamish Chamber of Commerce is once again proud to sponsor the Sammamish Business Directory. The directory you are holding is one of the ways the Chamber achieves this vision. Sammamish has captured top 20 spots on Money Magazine’s Best Places To Live several times in recent years. It’s an amazing

accomplishment for a city that’s only been incorporated since 1999, and recognizes the efforts by residents, City Government, civic organizations, and our local businesses to build a great community.

Building our community is a key part of the Sammamish Chamber’s mission.

Throughout the year the Chamber works to support our local businesses and connect them to the public through events like the Home Business Expo and Celebrating Women Conference, and shop local efforts like the Business Crawl and the Shop Local drawing held weekly at the Farmers Market to reward you for supporting local businesses.

From May through September the Chamber hosts the Sammamish Farmers Market on Wednesdays at the City Hall commons from 3 pm to 7 pm. Come to shop, eat, meet friends and family, and discover local businesses and Youth Vendors at the cleanest Market in King County.

The Chamber holds monthly networking and educational events for our members and those interested in learning about the Chamber. These include Sammamish Connects networking breakfasts, Member Luncheons, and Chamber After Hours events. These are great opportunities to promote your business at events our members love. Please visit to learn more about times and locations.

In any community, partnerships are vital. The Chamber is a committed partner with the City, through the Economic Development Committee and Farmers Market, and is active in the effort to move the Town Center forward. The Chamber works closely with local businesses, providing promotional and sponsorship opportunities, helping our members find strategic partnerships, working with our members to solve some of their bigger challenges, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Sammamish certainly is one of the best places to live. And with all of the wonderful businesses in this Directory, you won’t have to go far to find the best products and services around.

Welcome To Sammamish!2012 Sammamish Mayor’s Message

If you’re a newcomer to Sammamish, I trust you’ve already been welcomed by your new neighbors and friends, and by some of the fine merchants featured in this terrific Chamber of Commerce Directory. As the Mayor of Sammamish, please let me add my heartfelt welcome on behalf of the entire City Council and all the fine people who work for your new city government!

Oh, and one other thing – congratulations! You have just made your home in one of the finest small cities in the entire country. Although I will add some of the details in a moment, here’s the headline: Sammamish was recently named the “15th best place to live” among America’s small towns by CNN and Money Magazine.

Their reasons: great schools, a beautiful environment, exceedingly safe streets and neighborhoods, and lots of nearby employment centers. Although we didn’t become a city until 1999, I think it’s apparent that we’re rapidly becoming a “state of the art” suburban community.

Like any young, up-and-coming city, we still have a lot challenges and opportunities to embrace, but a backward glance reveals a record of achievement of which I think we can rightfully be proud. Since incorporation our population has grown from 34,000 to 46,000, our parkland from 125 acres to 422 acres, and our credit rating from “unknown” to AAA. We’ve also built numerous roads and ball fields, and added a new library, teen center, and City Hall.

Since this is supposed to be a welcome letter, not a laundry list of civic accomplishments, let me just add one more thing. The city recently adopted a Town Center Plan – a vision for 240 acres in the geographical center of the city that will ultimately feature a vibrant mix of retail, residential, commercial and public spaces. If you think this directory already offers a broad spectrum of businesses and merchants, just wait until their enterprise brings the Town Center to life and makes Sammamish an even better place to live!
