"On Christmas, we remember Jesus Christ.

Is Christ still relevant today? Yes.

'Thy Kingdom Come said Christ in the Lords Prayer.

He was concerned about 'Heaven on Earth

so that everyone can be happy.

Christianity has single-handedly spread the message of love all over the world.

Anyone who loves the other person loves God.

It is not that God is love, but love is God."

SATVIDHYA | Golden AgeWhy It Changes Our Reality

More research findings are rocking our connotation of time and space. Apparently, time is not a solid reality- and past, present and future exist all at once, according to former scientist and now author Gregg Braden.

We have also seen a string of articles in the New York Times (arguably one of the most distributed publicationin the world) about meditation and how its returning to yoga mats after decades of fitness-orientedpractices.

Huffington Post has run a series of articles on some of the richest and successful people of our time -beside these attributes, the only other factor they have in common is a regular meditation practice.

In the last decade, we have seen videos of statues of deities, and even one of Dr. Pillai, drinking milk. Andanother statue moving in a museum in Egypt, baffling scientists and observers alike.

At this time in history, as we explore a vaster vision of ourselves and the universe, we can start to believe themystics claims that we are all divine, that we can perform miracles and that the only thing stopping us is ourlimited perception.

Dr. Pillais mission of eradicating hunger has had at the core the underlying goal of empowering humanity by

proving our infinite potential. We can change ourselves and the world by changing our brain, by increasingour intelligence and understanding and by becoming the spiritual, divine beings that we are destined to beby tapping into our cosmic heritage.

In unprecedented candor, Dr. Pillai has recently revealed his avatar-hood.

For a few years, he took up a new role as Dr. Pillai and successfully brought scientific evidence for the validityof his teachings, which were stemming from the secret Tamil Siddha tradition. In all-embracing scientificlanguage, he explained yogic knowledge to intellectuals and spiritualists alike.

But in this Golden Age, a scientific paradigm seems incomplete in its slow modalities. So, Dr. Pillai is nowrevealing his past incarnations as a mystic and yogi. He has even made a reference to the real nature of theGods (Devas) and other celestial beings, the existence of extra-terrestrials and to the need for a light bodyas a solution to all human problems.

This body made of light is the next step in human evolution, when we will use our newly discovered divinepowers to solve our problems, help others and turn to higher and more spiritual goals.

Until we figure out how to pay all our bills, have enough free time to meditate and rescue other people whoare suffering in our vicinity, we dont really have a desire for spiritual evolution.

Dr. Pillai has emphasized how our goal is not a Divine coma. But rather, we need to use our rational mindin conjunction with a divine consciousness, not to escape from our current reality a modality that has left

millions of people in dire poverty in India and Tibet for example but to become more practical and morespiritual at the same time. Humanity needs both metaphysics and practicality.

Best wishes for much happiness and the fulfillment of your wishes in 2014.

There is no power equal to prayer in this world. A prayer performed for anothers benefit is more

powerful than a prayer for personal benefit. A joint prayer performed by many persons at a same time

is highly powerful. A Homa or Fire ritual is a joint process of prayer performed by one or more Priests for

    the benefit of a person.

A Remedy is like a helping equipment. For example when one is suffering by scorching heat or pouring

rain an umbrella is equipment to guard from atmospheric conditions. Similarly when a person is

drowning in deep water remedy helps like a boat, when one is unable to walk steadily remedy helps like

a walking stick; unable to see properly by naked eyes, remedy helps like a spectacle. Whether a remedy

will be worthy or not can be seen in the birth chart. How a blind can get sight by spectacles? In such

situations a remedy may not give complete solution or relief; but by performing powerful remedies one

can get rid of previous birth bad karmic deeds. By this remedy one can get some useful result similar to

a blind get some assistance at least to some extent by a walking stick.

To get relief from various difficulties humans are praying Gods. Even a good natured honest person

suffers in life. To find a job, to marry with a suitable partner, for having a child, to be successful in

examinations and for many reasons people are visiting holy places to worship their favorite Deities. Some are getting good results in their life; while some are not. The same God is favoring one and not to

another. Is the God merciless? Definitely not. God is a kind of form of Love and affection. Then why this

    situation arises?

SATVIDHYA | Right Day ToPerform A Prayer or Remedy

    Seethapathi

Mr. B Seethapathi was earlier working in Leather Industry as a Production Manager. Hewas curious about astrology and developed tremendous interest in it. Initially, hestarted reading books on astrology, but later his passion towards astrology drove himto do a Masters in it. He did B.A. Astrology and M.Sc. Applied Astrology. He had alsocompleted courses in KP System.

Well versed in Vedic and KP system of Astrology, he has also enriched his knowledgein Brighu Nadi Astrology and Chandra Nadi. With the techniques of these systems, heis able to get accurate insight which enables him to address the problem of a personvery easily.

With more than 10 years of experience, he confidently takes up challenges, and with hisunshakable dedication to and faith in astrology, solves the problems. He is proficient inaddressing progeny issues, relationship and career problems. His vast religiousknowledge helps him to give right remedies like mantras, yantras, poojas and homas. He also makes use of other tools like Vaastu and Gemstones to boost the energy levelsof the individuals. His strength is to suggest simple home remedies and suitable Godsfor worship to get worthy results in all areas of life.

To get worthy results we should find a suitable day and time to perform a remedy or prayer.

To perform poojas to a particular God we are choosing a particular star day or specific thithi (Moonstransit position from the Sun). For example Chaturthi thithi (4th Moon) to the Lord Ganesha, Shashti (the6th Moon) to the Lord Murugha, Ashtami (the 8th Moon) to the Goddess Durga, Ekadhasi (the 11thMoon) to the Lord Vishnu and Thrayodhasi (13th Moon) to the Lord Shiva. There are specific reasonsfor doing poojas on those particular days.

So by choosing a right and suitable day if we perform poojas, homas, temple visits and prayers goodresults are sure to happen in our lives. How to select such a day? There are some points to considerabout a birth chart.

    1. As per ones birth chart the transit of the Moon in the sign where Jupiter is placed

    2. Or the transit of the Moon in the sign where Jupiter aspect falls

    3. On a day without Chandrashtama (Chandrashtama - if Moon transits in the 8th house from the

    Moon sign)

    4. Transit of the Moon should not be in a sign occupied by the malefic planet like Rahu or Saturn 5. Transiting Moon should be in the 2nd, the 4th, the 6th or the 8th star from birth star

If the above rules are followed then the effect of remedy will be positive.

For example if one is born in any one of Aswini, Magha or Mula star, if Jupiter is placed in Virgo in thatpersons birth chart, then during the transit of the Moon in Virgo (where Jupiter is placed), in Capricorn,in Pisces or in Taurus (all 3 signs are aspected by birth chart Jupiter) in a favorable star with respect tothe birth star, on that day performing a special prayer in a temple, homa or pooja will bring definiteblessings to that person. Also should avoid inauspicious timings like rahu kalam or yama gandam.

There are 27 yogas (an auspicious moment). As per birth chart one will have a particular yoga day. If theremedy day falls on a beneficial (yoga) day as per birth chart sure possibility is there for good andeffective positive result.

Even those who have got good results by remedy might have performed that remedy on such a specificday without knowing all these rules.

A famous Tamil poet Tiruvalluvar said If you want world to be in your favor that will be possible, if youfind a suitable day, time and right place to do a task.

God is Love. His blessings are in store for the faithful people. Let us perform the remedy on a right day, time and to a suitable God to get happy results in our lives!

Ancient Indian Greats Dr. Lalitha Ramakrishna(Published by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai 600 004)

The back wrapper of the book contains a quotation of Swami

Vivekananda, in whose 150th birth anniversary this book was published

by the Ramakrishana Math, which says:

The more, therefore, the Hindus study the past, the more glorious will

be their future and whosoever tries to bring the past to the door of

everyone, is a great benefactor of his nation.

The book explores the ancient knowledge the rishis of this country possessed. The language is simple

and the narrative is appealing. The author talks about Aryabhatta and Bhaskara, the mathematical

geniuses of ancient India who had the distinction of originating the zero and the decimal system. The

chapters on astronomy and astrology throw light on many unknown aspects of the wisdom of our

ancient rishis. According to the author, this elaborate science was a subject of intense study in our

country. Jyothisha is a composite name for astrology and astronomy. Astronomy examined vast time

scales, enabling forecast of earthquakes, eclipses and famines, while astrology studied the effect of nine

principal planets on human lives. The author says that ancient Indian scholars approached every

branch of knowledge in a holistic manner. Its relevance to the daily life of the people was emphasized.

The purpose of astrological predictions, she says, is to forewarn an individual so that he is cautious and

able to face problems when they seem to strike suddenly Is Indian astrology fatalistic? No, it helps by

pointing out the probability of certain events that are likely to occur in a persons future.

Chanakya and his incomparable Artha Sastra is another interesting chapter. It reveals the mans

    extraordinary thinking on governance.

Currently, he writes articles and music & book reviews in TheHindus Friday Review column.

    Author Bio

The book also deals with Ayurveda and its principles. It talks about Charaka and Susruta. The concept

of Ayurveda and the mind is another chapter that explains the status of sattva, rajas and tamas. While

closing, the author states that A noisy, angry ambience makes our mind agitated and nervous. A walk

in the greenwoods and gardens makes the mind expansive and steady. When we are depressed, we

should go out and absorb the vitality of trees and grass and the flowers and the bright sun. The author

has acknowledged some of the ideas from the book Ayurveda and the Mind written by Dr. David Frawley.

While raising the question of why Kavya is important, interesting aspects of the greatness of our ancient

literature and particularly of master poet Kalidasas works Raghuvamsa and Kumara Sambhava are

discussed in detail. One chapter deals with Paninis grammar. Another important chapter is on Yoga of

    Patanjali.

Bharata munis Natya Sastra finds a place in this great work and the author states that his treatise was

the first comprehensive work for performing arts.

I liked the book for its logical statements, too. While reading about Bhaskara, one is bound to think

about his book Lilavati. It replaced other mathematics text of the time. But behind the book is a

poignant tale writes the author. Lilavati was the daughter of Bhaskaracharya. He was shocked to know

from reading her horoscope that she would be widowed as soon as she was married. The author further

    describes the event:

Bhaskara studied all aspects of this problem and was relieved to discover that if the wedding was

celebrated during a particular hour, his daughter would escape widowhood. He went ahead and

arranged Lilavatis wedding to be performed at this particular auspicious hour. The time was calculated

accurately by looking at a large hourglass that was kept in the courtyard. On the day of the wedding, the

young Lilavati was playing in the yard. She peeped into the hourglass and a pearl from her chain slipped

into the hourglass without her knowledge. The wedding was celebrated and Lilavati was widowed soon

after. A shocked Bhaskara later discovered that the pearl that fell from Lilavatis chain had got stuck

inside the hourglass and slowed its movement. Thus the wedding was not performed at the prescribed

auspicious moment. Bhaskara realized that a cruel destiny had asserted itself in spite of his efforts.

The author of the book is an erudite scholar on Indian philosophy and Indian mythology and has

authored several books for both adults and children.

    Jyotir Vidhya

Goddess and Science of AstrologyGoddess and Science of Astrology

At the heart of Vedic Astrology is the Jyotir Vidhya, Goddess of Light, who inspires the sages with

astrological knowledge and teachings. She is the one who helps the astrologers to connect with

planets and take readings to deeper levels. It is her Light and blessings that we seek to bring into

the modern world. Her presence and inspiration is symbolized in the AstroVed ghee light logo

which gives an invitation for the Divine to enter the interaction with each user.

A Goddess can put on a fresh dress, take on a fresh appearance. AstroVed India has recently

celebrated its Tenth Anniversary, and we know the Jyotir Vidhya is challenging us to bring Vedic

Astrology out to a larger audience over the next ten years and to give people more hope and

refreshment. She is asking us to take on more educational charter and to present astrological

information in new ways for the modern audiences across the globe.

How do we feel when we visit the Goddess in the temple? We feel energized, renewed, inspiredand uplifted. AstroVed has a goal to bring the Goddess energy of the Jyotir Vidhya more and more

into the site and the company and all interactions with the members, staff and volunteers.

Within the West, astrology is often viewed as a charlatan science, as religious fraud and as a rip-off

of peoples money. Even telling these people that the Indian Supreme Court has declared Vedic

Astrology a science can cause some to say, That just goes to show you how superstitious Indians

are. Some people are actively opposed to any mention or discussion of astrology or consider it the

devils work. The traditional sutras describe how the demons themselves do not want the

astrological knowledge to be passed on or to become widely available. There are forces on many

levels that oppose the spread of Vedic astrology, and we have to outsmart them through renewed

    unity of purpose.

Shakespeares plays are filled with astrological references as his culture was widely accepted asastrology. Ted Hughes, a British poet laureate, wrote that Shakespeares chosen deity could be

described as the Goddess of Complete Being. Tibetans worship Tara whose name means both

Star and She Who Saves. The Jyotir Vidhya is an immense being with an immense interest inbringing more Light onto this planet.

The Goddess can express Herself through scientific revelations. Our world is suffering from limitedintegration of ancient knowledge with the science of the day. Any sense we may have of science

is icky needs to be dissolved. This is just as limiting as thinking prosperity is not spiritual. Science

and technologies can be a vehicle for the Goddess to express through.

We need to use more language from science in describing the interactions of planets, signs,

houses in terms of the relationships being like reactions of various mixtures in chemistry class.

These relationships are what are unique for each person based on their chart.

The quantum mechanical view of reality startles us out of common notions of what is real. Even to

scientists, it is admittedly bizarre. In the quantum world, relationship is key. Subatomic particlescome into form and are observed only as they are in relationship to something else. They do not

exist as independent things. There are no basic building blocks. Quantum physics paints a

strange yet enticing view of a world that, as Heisenberg characterized it, appears as a complicated

tissue of events, in which connections of different kinds alternate or overlap or combine and

thereby determine the texture of the whole. These unseen connections between what were

previously thought to be separate entities are the fundamental ingredient of all creation.

~ Margaret J. Wheatley, author of Leadership and the

New Science: Discovering Order in a Chaotic World

Scientists value elegancein thinking and simplicityin formulas. We humbly ask the Jyotir Vidhya

to help us improve in both elegance and simplicity in explaining to people the critical connections

    in their charts.

    Q&A -Does Your

    Child HateAcademics?

    12

  • 8/13/2019 SatVidhya_December2013

    14/1913

Following is a consolidation of specific problem related queries that every parent has withregard to the academic interest of their children.

Q1. Why do most of the children hate academics?

    Practical reasons:

    1. Children are compelled to study and they become repulsive. 2. Uninteresting syllabus and curriculum. 3. Insufficient practical exercises and illustrations. 4. Lack of hand-on sessions and hence unable to relate the concepts learnt in the

practical scenario. 5. Projects that are beyond the capacity of the students.

    Astrological reasons:

Weak Mercury, afflicted Jupiter, badly positioned Mars, Moon with malefic associations orplaced in weak and unsupportive signs are some typical situations which make the childuninterested in academics.Logical understanding of the correlation between the practical and astrological reasons:

Moon rules over the emotional intelligence, which is the root level intelligence. Moon indicatesthe conditioned mind that makes a person experience the subjective reality, based on thethought pattern and the psychological make-up of the person.

Mercury signifies the rational intellect of the mind, which is polished and nurtured throughformal education. In general, moon rules over both thoughts and feelings.

According to Vedic Mythology, Moon is Mercurys father. That is, Mercury the intellect is bornfrom the Moon. Thus Mercury, the rational mind can be said to (ideally) perceive the objectivereality.

Now, when children are compelled to study, especially a subject matter that is uninteresting orbeyond their capacity, they either become submissive or yield to the compulsion due to fear orthey may give no attention at all. Whatever is response of the child, it is taken based on themental attitude of the child, and it is evident that the emotional elements are at play, clearlyindicating the big role played by Moon as the influencer.

Only few children understand the true significance of the activity even at a young age. Theymight have a better logical mind and a practical sensibility, that help them reason out forthemselves why they should study. Clarity of mind as contributed by a supportive Moon andreasoning power by strong Mercury will be evident in their charts. With a strong Mars, they willalso be willing to act.

Q2. Is there any remedy for my child aged 8 years, who likes to play all the time and is

very active while playing games. But she is very slow at writing. If she can be fast at

snake and ladder, why cannot be in writing?

Your question is very logical. But you should understand that, from your childs perspective, playing the board game and writing her daily lessons are totally different activities. She finds thefun quotient in the former. But there is happy news for you. Children who are interested andgood at sports and games have good physical intelligence, strategizing skills, deftness in their

thoughts and actions. Sit with your child during her homework time, whether it is writing orreading. Do not be preachy and use big words like success, failure and bright future. Explainthat reading and writing is also like a board game, and instill a sense of accomplishment in herso that she changes her perception about studies by herself.

Astrologically, an afflicted 3rd House might be one of the reasons for her disinterest in writing. She might also be having higher influence of Mars, Moon and Mercury. Whether they aresupportive or not could be told only after a thorough birth chart analysis.

Q3. My son is eleven years old. It is with lots of efforts that I have got him admitted in avery reputed school, which is known for its fun based teaching methodology, and many

extra-curricular activities. But to my amazement, my son is just not able to enjoy his

classes, and is falling back. Many days he even refuses to go to school. What do I do?The first thing you should do is to talk to your child. Probe gently and remember to neveraccuse him. Your approach should give him assurance of support. When he starts to open up,listen to him completely. You will be able to identify his problem and what is preventing him fromliking his school. It could be peer pressure, fear or anything. If the problem needs yourintervention, act immediately. If your son also needs to be involved, then do so, but it is veryimportant that he knows that you are there to support him fully and unconditionally.

Astrologically speaking, if he had been going to his previous school without any complaints orthere were no issues in previous classes, then it should be a problem with the planetary timethat he is passing through now. May be he might be undergoing the major and/or minorperiods of weak or afflicted planets in his birth chart, which can be solved or mellowed downby appropriate remedies.

The firstthing youshoulddo is totalk to

    your child

Today, I am going to talk that matter is vaporous. There is no substance to matter at all, although it

appears to be solid, if we can understand it. Not only understand, but live our day; no one will ever

feel stuck. You are not stuck in your job. You are not stuck to your apartment and you are not stuck

in your relationship. Nobody is stuck anywhere, because there is nothing that stays forever. Nothing

is permanent. I, therefore, said matter is vaporous. Things seem to continue day after day. It is

because we do not want to do anything to move it. Once you change things within your mind, then

things will change outside, too. The outside does not exist by itself. It has to stand or get supported

by inner thing. Here, the inner thing is your own consciousness. It is your own mind. Therefore, your

mind or thought is responsible for anything that exists outside.

For instance, you think nothing is stable, everything is moving. Then you will see things are really

moving. Unfortunately, we tend to do things outside, in order to bring changes. That is not going to

work. If it works, it will take a long time. The easiest way is to change the inner thing; by doing so,

    you can change the outside.

Always think that you are not stuck because matter does not exist at all. Matter is a fasten-reality.

You have fastened the matter by your own thought process. Just walk with infinite optimism and

positive attitude that every moment is new and things can be changed at will.
