Nowopenthepipejacketandcutitopenfromtheholetothejacketopening
Placethesectionaroundthepipeandcloseit.
Firstopenthezipclosure.Todothis,takethepipejacketinbothhandsandturnitintheoppositedirection.
Nowpullafingerthroughfromtoptobottom–thepipejacketopenscompletely.
Placethepipejacketaroundthepipe,presstheclosurelipstogether–drivealongtheclosurewithlightfingerpressure.Nogluingrequired!
Nowtakethecounterpart,makeasaddleincision...
...openthepipejacket,layitaroundthebranchpipeandcloseit.Done!

Foraradiusof2to5cm,maketwonotchcutsat45°each.Leaveabout1cmspacebetweenthenotches.Foraradiusoflessthan2cm,asingle90°notchissufficient.

Cutaholeatanappropriateanglethroughthezipclosureorthroughthejacketopenings.Openanduseaknifetomakeacavityforthefitting.DifficulttoreachareascanbeinsulatedwithaPEwrappingtape.
Bringthepipeendsbutttobuttundermediumpressure.Thiswillpreventgapsfromformingduringtheinitialheating.Foraperfectseal,wrapthefinishedjointswithPVCtape.
Nowyoucaneasilypulltheinsulationoverthearch.Thisiswhattailor-madeworklookslike!
Firstdeterminetheradiusbyplacingarulerattheendofthebendandtakingabearingontheotherendwithyourthumb.Inourexampleitisabout2.5cm.
