FEE WAIVER POLICY

It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status.

Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) February 5-7 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions.

Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services.

AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY

Effective immediately,there will be

NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates

for ANY sport. No child will be

allowed to play out of his or her age category.

REGISTRATION FEE POLICYFor all team sports, registrations after the set registration date will incur an additional $10 fee for processing team rosters. OUT OF COUNTY POLICYAll the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for programs will be required to pay an additional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.

REFUND POLICYRefunds will not be issued for with-drawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment require-ments set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 ser-vice charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Co-Ed Play T-Ball league meets twice per week. T-Ball is for first-year players. Rookie is a coach-pitch league. The Rookie league is designed for 6 year olds who have participated in T-Ball and also for first year 7 year olds.

5 SOCCER & TUMBLING & GOLF

Soccer Emphasis of these soccer recreational leagues is placed on the enjoyment of playing soccer while learning the basic skills of the game. Season runs mid-February through mid-April. All leagues are co-ed and meet two times per week. Age control date: August 1, 2013**

Junior Golf Schools Local PGA professionals team fundamentals of the game and etiquette. Schools are held at Hackers Golf Park. Golf clubs are available for use. Level 1 is beginners; Level 2 is for those who have prior experience or have completed a Junior Golf School in the past. Ages 5-17

Statesboro - Bulloch Track Club Learn the fundamentals of Track and Field through this year round pro-gram...or choose only the months you want to attend! This program will teach sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and fair play through the sport. Athletes, ages 7 to 18, will have opportunities to compete in track and field

9 AFTER SCHOOL & SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM

“Our Time”After school care until 6 p.m., “Our Time” offers a structured, supervised after school program for students in the Bulloch County School System,

Pre-K through 5th grade. 2013-2014 School Yr. Reg Fee: $50

$40 weekly rate per child $12 daily rate per child

You will automatically be registered for every day school is in session for the

2013-2014 school year. You will only be billed for those days you use care.

The required registration fee per child is non-deductible and non-refundable.

SpecialistsSBCPRD strives to provide qual-ity individualized care for children with disabilities based on the spe-cific needs of the child. The “Spe-cialists” program is an inclusive pro-gram, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrich-ment activities which allow chil-dren with disabilities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.

Lifeguard Training Description: Get your Lifeguard, First Aid & CPR/AED Certification. Students must be 15 years of age or older, be able to complete a 100 yard swim with head up looking forward, retrieve a submerged 10lb object from the pool floor, and tread water for one minute without using your hands. Participants must attend every class session.Lifeguard Recertification Description: for previous lifeguards who received Starguard certification last year and need to recert. Must hold current or recently expired StarGuard Lifeguard Certification. Students must bring their own book. New CAP folders will be issued.Swimming Instructor Description: for anyone interested in teaching Swim Lessons using the Starfish Aquatics Swim Lesson program.

Sit FitTake Step One to being physically active with our most popular exercise program. With fresh ideas on balance, flexibility, and strength, the program has taken a new and improved direction. Features include seated, standing, and walking exercises to get the heart rate up. Meets at Honey Bowen Bldg, for only $2 a session or free for Senior Center members.

The SilverLiners Line DancingIntermediate & Advanced Line Dancing taught by long time instructor Thelma Kilpatrick. This group performs at local nursing and assisted living homes. Meets at Honey Bowen Bldg, for only $2 a session.

Learn to Play BridgeCome learn how to play Bridge (card game) for free at the Honey Bowen Bldg. Tuesdays 3 to 5 pm

TRAVEL - Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, Macon GA March 28Join us for the “Pinkest Party on Earth!” Festival features over 300,000 Yoshimo cherry trees, offering a breathtaking view! 14EQUINE PROGRAMS & CANINE TRAINING

This program is designed for youth and adults who have been diag-nosed with an

emotional, physical, or cognitive disabil-ity. Experience outdoor fun and recreation while using the horse as a tool to improve posture, self-esteem, balance, coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Me-morial Park on Lakeview Road in 4-week sessions.

Session one: March 25- April 15 Session two: April 22 - May 13

Horseback Riding LessonsLessons are for beginner to intermediate levels. Ages 5 - 18 (as of September 1, 2013) years old. Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Interested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons such as; patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably pants or jeans and closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes). March 3 - April 11 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session (Rider chooses 1 day a week for a 45-minute time slot between the hours of 3 and 8 pm)
