6 SUMMER CAMP

Fieldtrip Days: Fieldtrip days vary depending on the trip. Please read your weekly letters for the fieldtrip day that week. Normal out of town trip days are: Thursday: Prek / Kindergarten / 1st Grade Wednesday: 2nd – 5th Grades Some local trips may occur any day of the week if we go in small groups. Example: Prek-K might go on Monday, and 1st grade might go on Thursday. *Please wear Camp t-shirt on ALL fieldtrip days. Additional Activities include: art, science, games, reading, centers – younger children (blocks, legos, coloring, dress up, dramatic play, etc.), playground activities, music, fitness, etc. Activities are based on weekly themes that are developed by the camp staff. We are a recreation based program and we will have a variety of activities for both inside and outside. Parents are encouraged to sunscreen their child daily – since we will be outside during different times of the day. (Staff will also be reminded to have children sunscreen on occasion). Camp Drop off – we will offer “drop off” in the mornings. We will have staff greeting parents outside from 7:50am until 8:15am. If arriving after 8:15am – you will need to escort your child into camp!

• Early care is available beginning at 7:15am ($5 per week – must be prepaid) – must walk in & sign in. LUNCH: Children will need to BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH each day! No microwavable items. Scan cards are required!

• Pickup requires parents to come inside – and scan out. PLEASE use your scan card! This is for your child’s safety! Even if you know the staff – please USE the cards!!!!

• We ask for patience as you pick up your child. In order to have a fun summer – we utilize many different spaces at the schools (which of course means that we have to spread out some). Parents are welcome to come into the camp and find the location where your child is participating in an activity. This will allow you a glimpse at the fun they are having; an opportunity to speak with staff; and will help you to assist your child in a timelier pickup.

Please be sure to sign your child IN and OUT each and every day. Your diligence in this area will help us in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Educational activities: We will offer several educational activities throughout the summer. We believe this may help our children to maintain a quality learning experience throughout the year. We don’t inundate them with this – but we do offer some activities that will keep them on track, for example: activity sheets, board games, videos, clubs, etc. Please let us know if your child has any disability that would hinder their participation in this type of activity. Rest Time: PreK & Kindergarten groups will have a rest time each day (12:45 – 1:30). Please send a mat/blanket/pillow if you have one. You may keep these at camp each week – but we encourage you to take home on Fridays and wash!

Campers are encouraged to bring a water bottle… often times when they are outside – they like to have a lot of water – this would allow them easy access! Water fountains are available at the camp site.

GET TO KNOW YOUR STAFF! Please – feel free to talk with the staff who work with your child. Go in and speak with them about any concerns or questions you may have. We want our staff and parents to communicate about their child. This is necessary to offer the best possible care! Don’t just speak to the site managers… please talk directly with group leaders. These staff truly care about each child – and want to get to know parents as well! Take a few minutes at pickup or drop off to meet these staff! This Summer Camp is also an Inclusive Summer Camp for Children with Special Needs. If you have any questions about our special needs program please contact Alison Brown at 489-9059 or [email protected]. If you have any questions contact Joy Deal at 764-5637 or 489-9058; [email protected].
