INTRODUCTION

Naumi Hotels is a Singapore-based hospitality arm of The Hind Group, began with the opening of its fl agship hotel, Naumi on Seah Street, in 2007, which soon built up an enviable reputation for unparalleled attention to detail and impeccable personalized service.

Having won numerous awards and accolades since its founding, the hotel’s constant pursuit for perfection led to a multi-million revamp in late 2012. The facelift featured 73 contemporary rooms elegantly outfi tted with designer furnishings and all-star amenities.

Following suit, Naumi Liora, the second Naumi property took off at Keong Saik Road in Singapore in 2012. Set in a heritage townhouse conferred conservation status, the property is a beacon of hospitality consisting of 79 uniquely sized rooms illuminated with a warm sanctuary of style and repose.

Today, Naumi Hotels is a brand synonymous with personal luxury and prime locality. Naumi Hotels has purchased a historic 4-Star Comfort Hotel in Wellington, capital of New Zealand. The stylish heritage building is located within the heart of Wellington’s most vibrant and cultural precinct, Cuba Quarter. The locality has a lot of boutique shops, vintage stores, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and hidden bars. It is within walking distance to many of Wellington’s most well-known landmarks, including the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa and the Victoria University of Wellington.

The hotel consists of 115 rooms equipped with en-suite bathrooms, F&B services and meeting rooms.

Mr Surya was born into the Jhunjhnuwala family, which owns the Hind Group, a consortium of companies with diverse interests. He has a penchant for boutique hotels with distinct characters, and soon saw the potential in building properties suited for inner-city living in the Asia Pacifi c region. Naumi, the personal luxury boutique hotel, was created as a result of Mr Surya’s passion for personalized hospitality.

Looking ahead, Mr Surya is keen to explore opportunities to build boutique properties and discerning luxury residential and commercial projects in other parts of Asia. Other than the property arm of the business, Mr Surya also looks into the fi nancial funds for the family as well as overseeing the fi nances of the group’s listed company in India.

Putting the Kaizen philosophy into play at Naumi Hospitality, Gaurang strives to improve all functions of the business with fortitude.

His experiences in leading hotel chains such as the Intercontinental Hotels Group and Ovolo Group in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Melbourne further enhanced his knowledge of the hospitality industry and kept him on the cusp of the latest travel trends. Bringing a vast knowledge of different markets and expertise, Gaurang is now looking into the development of the group in other key cities across the globe.

Peter joined Naumi Hospitality in September 2010, bringing with him over 30 years of hotel experience. During his years in the hospitality industry, Peter has worked at all levels of hotel management, giving him the skills he needs to effectively supervise multiple properties.

A crucial player at the heart of Naumi Hospitality, Peter excels in spotting unusual market opportunities and making a success of them. He is a terrific combination of an innovator and a hotelier. Because of his very keen eye for detail, Peter always keeps an eagle eye on the day-to-day operations of the hotel and is a key member of the senior management team. Peter studied Hotel Management at the Singapore Hotel Association Training & Education Centre (SHATEC).
