Australia offers some of the toughest marine conditions to be found anywhere in the world. From the high salinity and heat of the Northern Tropics to the cold and blustery conditions experienced on our Southern shores. These conditions were all taken into account when we chose Quick anchor winches for our product range. Quick produces products of high quality in terms of design and choice of material to ensure strength and durability. Winches use a combination of 316 grade stainless steel, chrome plated bronze and highly polished marine grade cast alloy for all above deck metal components to resist

corrosion provoked by a saltwater environment. Models are available with a choice of base material to reduce the risk of electrolytic corrosion due to dissimilar metals. All models are supplied as standard with heavy duty, high efficiency, dual direction motors from 250 watts up to 2300 watts and available in a choice of 12V or 24V versions in the larger sizes. Motors up to 1700 watts are waterproof to IP67 standard. Gearboxes are anodised alloy, not painted. Each unit features a clutch release operated by a standard sheet winch handle to ‘free fall’ the anchor.

A magnetic sensor is installed in each winch as standard to enable use with the optional Quick digital chain counters,

either dash mounted or hand held remote, without requiring a modification to the winch.

All windlasses are supplied as standard with dual direction solenoid kit, clutch release handle, deck switch, panel mounted up/down switch (excl. Tauro and Totem) and a panel mounted, hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker with manual reset to protect against overload. An extensive installation and operation manual, neoprene deck mount gasket and drilling template are also included.

Winches with chain gypsies are designed to accept Australian Standard sized, short link galvanised or stainless steel chain. Models with combination chain/rope gypsies should be used with medium lay, three strand nylon anchor warps. When using primarily rope anchor warps, it is essential that enough fall distance is provided in the anchor well to prevent the rope bunching up and jamming.

Vertical Anchor Winch – Dylan 1700D

316 grade stainless steel base and chain inspection lid combine with an aluminium lower gearbox structure and motor housing to create a lightweight yet strong vertical winch with capstan. Fitted with an emergency manual lift system comprising of a ratchet mechanism that, when engaged, allows the gypsy to turn only in the retrieval direction. Supplied standard with a 10mm chrome plated bronze gypsy, composite pressure lever arm and integrated chain pipe.

Horizontal Anchor Winches - Genius Free-Fall 600F & 1000F

Compact, on-deck mounted windlass with anodised marine grade alloy housing and chrome plated bronze gypsy but with the addition of a selectable free-fall function to enhance the speed at which the anchor may be dropped.Genius free-fall technology as illustrated below, allows the gypsy to be stopped to retrieve the anchor by just touching the ‘up’ button. Pushing the ‘down’ button for one revolution of the gypsy releases the brake and the gypsy can then turn freely. To stop the gypsy during the free-fall, just press the up control. The innovative free-fall technology incorporates a simple braking system to enable the gypsy to engage gradually, avoiding the sudden stop impact, preventing damage to the winch.

SHorizantal Anchor Winch - mini Genius 250

A compact, on-deck mounted windlass providing functionality and efficiency. Manufactured for the harsh marine environment, the Mini Genius features a robust anodised marine grade alloy housing and chrome plated bronze gypsy. Designed primarily for above deck installation, its compact size makes it ideal for restricted deck space. For best rope to chain results it is recommended that a tapered splice and three strand rope of either nylon or polyester construction with a medium/firm lay be used.

Horizontal Anchor Winch - mini Genius Free-Fall 250F

A compact, on-deck mounted windlass providing functionality and efficiency with the addition of a selectable free-fall function to enhance the speed at which the anchor may be dropped. Manufactured for the harsh marine environment the Mini Genius free-fall features a robust anodised marine grade alloy housing and chrome plated bronze gypsy. Quick free-fall technology allows the gypsy to be stopped to retrieve the anchor by just touching the ‘up’ control button. Pushing the ‘down’ button for one revolution of the gypsy releases the brake allowing the gypsy to once again turn freely. Quick’s innovative free-fall technology incorporates a simple braking system to enable the gypsy to engage gradually, avoiding the sudden stop impact and preventing damage to the winch. For best rope to chain results it is recommended that a tapered splice and three strand rope of either nylon or polyester construction with a medium/firm lay be used.

SDigital Chain CounterWatertight, dash mount instrument with large LCD indicating a vast range of anchoring data. The display is backlit for night use with illuminated function keys and features an automatic contrast compensation according to ambient temperature. It is supplied as a complete kit including magnetic sensors, making it suitable for any electric windlass. All Quick winches are supplied with the sensors already installed. Hand Held Radio Remote ControlsPocket sized, radio transmitters used in conjunction with the radio receivers below and most solenoid activated switching applications such as anchor winches, davits, cranes etc. Transmitters are all precoded and each has a unique code, different from any other chosen from over sixteen million variations. Each channel operates a single function. It is possible for one transmitter to activate multiple receivers. Powered by 3LR50 (12V) internal alkaline battery.

Radio ReceiversUsed in conjunction with the hand held radio transmitters above to control most solenoid activated switching applications such as anchor winches, davits, cranes etc via integral relays. The system is based on microprocessors that are able to identify and store one or more transmitting codes. The receiver can be programmed to receive the signal from multiple transmitters to provide for varied applications.

Remote Up-Down Panel SwitchMomentary, on-off-on, waterproof panel mounted switch with black plastic backing plate, grey plastic face plate and a rubber boot. Supplied as standard with all of the Quick anchor winches. Suitable for use in multiple station installations. Used in conjunction with solenoids in heavy power demand applications.

Foot SwitchesMoulded plastic foot switches with hinged covers to prevent accidental foot operation, but still allowing finger operation when required. Raised arrow on the colour coded rubber boot over the momentary switch denotes direction. Must be used in conjunction with a solenoid.

Circuit BreakersReplacement, hydraulic magnetic circuit breakers for the Quick range of anchor winches. Supplied with black plastic backing plate, grey plastic face plate and a rubber boot. Matches the 153510 remote up/down panel switch.
