SEPTEMBER DEADLINES

DevelopIntelligence Scholarship for Promising Programmers

Eligibility:

• The student is enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a

college or university in the United States.

• The student has completed at least one computer science class with a grade of at least 3.4

out of 4.0, or the equivalent.

• The student has concrete plans to take at least one computer science class in the upcoming

school year.

Marshall Scholarships for graduate study in the United Kingdom

Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any

field of study.

BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship

Eligibility:

• A current undergraduate or graduate student at a four-year university in the United States

or Canada (graduate program itself, i.e., business school, may be shorter in length)

• Continuing studies as a full-time student in Fall 2018 with a minimum 40% course load

• Pursuing a degree in business/commerce, engineering, math, physics, statistics or a related

discipline

• Interested in a career in Financial Services with a focus on Capital Markets preferred

• A person with a (visible or invisible) disability (defined as someone who has, or considers

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-Asia)

The program provides scholarships to undergraduates to help fund study programs in East and

Southeast Asia for which they will receive academic credit.

Eligibility:

• Students must demonstrate financial need in order to be eligible for the program.

• Priority will be given to students with limited or no previous experience in Asia.

• As a condition of the award, upon return to the U.S., students must promote study in Asia

by sharing their experiences with peers on their home campuses and in their

Rhodes Scholarships

The Rhodes Trust provides full financial support for Rhodes Scholars to pursue a degree or

degrees at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom

Eligibility:

• Must be a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident of the United States

on April 15 in the year of application

• Eligible to apply through one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or one of the U.S.

territories: either in the state or territory where the applicant was legally resident on April

15 in the year of application, or where the applicant will have received at least two years

of college training and a bachelor’s degree before October 1 in the year following

election;

• At least 18 but not yet 24 years of age (i.e., the applicant must still be 23 on October 1 in

Institute of International Education- Fulbright Grant

The Fulbright Program offers grants to study, teach, and conduct research for U.S. citizens to go

abroad and for non-U.S. citizens to come to the United States.

• Have a bachelor’s degree at the beginning date of the grant, but will not have a doctoral

degree before the deadline.

• Also, the student must have interest in studying, assistant-teaching English, or research

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant

program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad.

Eligibility:

• Be a citizen of the United States

• Be an undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution of higher

education in the United States (including both two-year and four-year institutions)

• Be receiving a Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell

Grant during the term of his/her study abroad program or internship

• Be in the process of applying to, or accepted for, a study abroad or internship program of at

least two weeks for community college students and four weeks for students from four-

year institutions, in a single country and eligible for credit from the student’s home

institution.

• Proof of program acceptance is required prior to award disbursement

• Be proposing to study in a country not currently under a Travel Warning issued by the

The Public Policy International Affairs Fellowship Program

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is an intensive seven-week summer program that

focuses on preparing students for graduate programs in public and international affairs and

careers as policy professionals, public administrators and other leadership roles in public service.

Eligibility:

• Must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident to apply to the JSI's hosted by

Berkeley, Maryland and Michigan. International applicants pursuing a bachelor's degree

in the U.S. will be considered by Carnegie Mellon and Princeton.

• Must have completed junior year of college by the start of Junior Summer Institute (JSI)

and have at least one full semester or two quarters of coursework remaining before

graduation.

Federal Reserve Bank of NY – Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program

The Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program provides outstanding undergraduate students with

the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in public service at the Federal Reserve Bank

of New York.

Eligibility:

Critical Languages Scholarship

The Critical Languages Scholarship provides intensive overseas study in the critical need foreign

Washington Media Scholars Foundation

Eligibility:

• Rising juniors and seniors in good academic standing are encouraged to apply.

• Open to full-time degree seeking students who’s major or minor prepares them for a career

in strategic public policy advertising research, management, planning, and buying. These

include, but are not limited to, mass communications, journalism, marketing (business or

mass communications), and political science.

• Each applicant must articulate his or her financial need for the scholarship by explaining

how the additional financial aid will impact his or her academic career.

• Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their major concentration.

The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service

Program is an opportunity for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Science,

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management

Of the 10,000 MBA students who graduate every year from top-tier business schools, less than 6

percent are African American, Native American or Hispanic Americans. Averages of 225

fellowships are awarded per year. After admission to a participating university, applicant is

CUNY Pipeline Program

The Pipeline Program is a CUNY-wide initiative designed to provide educational and financial

support to CUNY undergraduates from groups currently underrepresented in our nation's

universities who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in preparation for college-level teaching and

Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship

The Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) supports

students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields of study that use high performance computing to

solve complex science and engineering problems. Computational science is an interdisciplinary

approach that uses algorithms, mathematics, and computers to analyze and solve scientific and

engineering problems. The fellowship seeks to ensure an adequate supply of trained scientists

and engineers to carry out DOE’s mission in Computational Sciences.

Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) Program

Research interns spend 10 weeks (summer term) or 16 weeks (semester term) at a DOE

laboratory engaged in a research project under the guidance of a laboratory scientist or engineer.

Eligibility:

• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited institution,

and also have completed at least one year as a matriculating undergraduate student at the

time of applying (additional undergraduate credits obtained prior to enrollment cannot be

applied to meet the minimum one-year completion requirement).

• Must have an undergraduate cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all

completed courses as a matriculating student.

• Must be 18 years or older at the time the internship begins.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship

The Goldwater Scholarship Program seeks to identify and support college sophomores and

juniors who show exceptional promise of becoming this Nation’s next generation of research

leaders in these fields.

Eligibility:

• Be a full-time matriculated sophomore or junior pursuing a degree at an accredited 2- or 4-

year institution of higher education during the 2017-2018 academic year

• Intend to pursue a research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering

• Have a college grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale

• Be a U.S. citizen from the 50 states or the District of Columbia

• A U.S. national for those students nominated from Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands,

Each year, the New York Women in Communications Foundation awards 15-20 scholarships to

The Point Foundation LGBT Scholars

Point Foundation empowers promising lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender, and queer students to

achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them

– to make a significant impact on society. Point provides scholarship support. Point scholarships

are awarded on a "last provider" basis. Point fills in the gaps and provides funds not provided by

other scholarships, grants, loans, work/study programs, etc.

Required Supplemental Materials (for Semi-Finalists only): 2-3 letters of recommendation,

transcripts, and verification of test scores that are submitted in the application, resume/CV,

financial aid award, and essay.

Eligibility:

• Individuals who receive a Point Scholarship Award and support are expected to be “out” as

a person who identifies within the LGBTQ spectrum—lesbian, gay, bisexual,

transgender, queer.

• Each person who applies for a Point Scholarship is evaluated on the totality of his or her

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ernest F.

Hollings Scholarship

The Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program is designed to provide selected

undergraduates with a scholarship award of up to $8,000.00 for two academic years of full time

study and a ten-week internship during the summer at a NOAA facility.
