The SELC 4000-100 Watt without Light Sensor The SELC 4000 50/70/100 Watt Ballasts bring the proven reliability and performance of the SELC 2000 Ballast range without the expensive communications ability at a very ECONOmical price. Ballasts control high pressure sodium and metal halide lamps with a 80Hz power waveform with characteristics close to optimum for HID lamps. Unlike conventional magnetic gear, power supplied to the lamp by the Selc 4000 ballast range is not sensitive to mains supply voltage fluctuations within its supply operating voltage range. Conventional magnetic gear can vary the lamp power by 12% if there is a 4% fluctuation in the supply voltage. This can reduce lamp life. The SELC 4000 ballast with light sensor can control the ballast to switch its lamp ON and OFF at factory set lux levels without the additional cost of a separate photocell. Also, if the part-night feature is activated (factory configured) part night dimming is possible without any additional equipment using the light sensor to set an internal clock. This saves energy during times of low activity. Alternatively, the SELC 4000 ballast range can be factory set at either 90% or 80% Dim levels to prevent ‘over-lighting’ with immediate energy savings. The SELC 4000 is lightweight in comparison to magnetic ballasts and requires very little wiring. (No wiring loom as with conventional ballasts, therefore reducing fitting and installation charges).
