Self Knowledge PROJECT

Your final assignment for the unit will be creating an Infographic about the formula for finding the right occupation and a reflection. Infographic You are to create an Infographic* in which you present the formula of finding the right job as discussed in class. In order to create the infographic you NEED to use piktochart.com (http://piktochart.com/gallery/themes/) and you NEED to sign up and create an account. The infographic should have:

• The formula along with the definition of each component of the formula. • The significance of having and knowing your strengths, skills, interests, and

competencies along with 2 examples of each. • A definition of fundamental/transferable skills, the significance of them, and

2 examples of them. • A definition of personal management skills, the significance of them, and 2

examples of them. • How fundamental/transferable skills, personal management skills, and the

formula will help you be successful in finding a job/career/occupation. *An infographic is a graphical representation of information. It uses images, media, text, numbers, symbols, etc to present information.

Unit 1, Self Knowledge, Summative

Tips for creating your Infographic:

• Make sure that your infographic has a clear “path” of information to follow. The more simple and straightforward the design, the better.

• Does your infographic tell a story? Does it have a beginning or end? More importantly, does your data have a conclusion? A conclusion is not always necessary; especially if your inforgraphic is going to be.

• Does your infographic pose a question? Similar to blog post titles, infographics that pose a question (What/Why/How) or provides a list (Top 10/The Best and Worst Of…) tend to perform well, and make it easier to come up with a “flow” of data.

• In the case of length, consider your niche. If you’ll be promoting business and marketing sites, long infographics with a lot of research involved is very appropriate. On the other hand, if you’re pushing a beauty infographic and plan to promote it mostly on fashion bloggers websites, small and narrow (to better fit the blogging layout) is probably better.

Reflection Write a reflection about the information that you presented in your infographic. There is no specific length for the reflection and you can organize it however you like. Reflection question: What are the chosen career(s) that you will be focusing on throughout this semester and how does it fit your strength, interests, skills, and competencies. You will need to look at all of the quizzes that you took for this and you will need to include personal management skills and fundamental/transferable skills into your reflection. DUE:
